OSD Exclusive: Amy Weber Interview
October 19th, 2009 | Comments (26)

The Royals were able to have an interesting and thought provoking question and answer interview session with former WWE Diva and Diva Search Contestant, Amy Weber. She answered our inquisitive inquiries with such openness and dignity. Amy related to us her experiences in the Diva Search, WWE, the wrestling business in general, and her life. She even put some rumors to rest about her release and how she was treated “by the boys”! Thanks once again to the very pleasant Amy Weber for joining us!

Marcella: Thank you so much for agreeing to answer some questions, Amy! You came into the WWE through the WWE Diva Search. How did you find out about the contest? What was that experience like?
Amy Weber: My agent told me about the contest. It was unlike anything that I had experienced before. It was fun and challenging.

Marcella: A lot of people have said very negative things about Carmella Decesare. In your honest opinion, what did you think of her?
Amy Weber: I do not like people who think that they are better than others and try to make themselves feel better by putting others down. She had zero respect for the wrestlers or the wrestling community.

To continue reading the full interview, click to go on after the cut!

Marcella: Did you make any close friends with your fellow Diva Searchers?
Amy Weber: Yes. I became friends with Joy until we got into our rift and Camille and the Twins.

Marcella: What were your thoughts on Christy Hemme winning the Diva Search?
Amy Weber: I thought she totally deserved to win.

Marcella: What was it like to secure a position as a Smackdown Diva?
Amy Weber: It was flattering when they asked me back to be a part of that show.

Marcella: How was working as an image consultant for JBL and his Cabinet of Orlando Jordan and the Bashman Bothers?
Amy Weber: I loved those guys. They were great and it felt like working with a bunch of big brothers. JBL is very smart and sweet.

Marcella: A loyal reader, Patrice, wanted to know what you thought about feuding with Joy Giovanni?
Amy Weber: It was interesting and I thought that it was a nice storyline for the show. Joy is a really cool girl so we have mended fences.

Marcella: What were some things you would have improved in this feud?
Amy Weber: I would have had us actually fight more in the ring.

Marcella: Were you disappointed at your win via count out against Joy?
Amy Weber: Yes.. I wanted to fight her for real. I had been training really hard.

Marcella: One of our readers, Diego, asked, during your time in WWE, did you ever make any good friends, and if so, who were they?
Amy Weber: Not great friends but really nice people that I will keep in touch with here and there.

Marcella: There have been a lot of rumors on why you left. Some people said you left on account of sexual harassment and other said that you left because of the pay. To clear these rumors up once and for all, what was the real reason behind your sudden departure?
Amy Weber: I left on account of pure harassment and being treated like a piece of dirt by some of the male wrestlers for no reason. I am actually a very sweet person. Yes, I played a “heel” for WWE but that is not my personality. I go out of my way to help others and a few of the guys made my decision to leave very easy. If they treated someone like that in the real world, they would be fired without question but are allowed to get away with nonsense in the WWE.

Marcella: One of our readers, Dylan, asked, did you ever want to become a full fledge wrestling Diva, and if so, which WWE Divas past or present would you of loved to have faced off against?
Amy Weber: I never had a desire to go to the school because I knew that my time with the WWE would not be a lifelong thing. I would have liked to have gotten in the ring with Victoria. She is a total badass.

Marcella: Mona, a reader of ours, wanted to know if you ever tune into WWE?
Amy Weber: I actually don’t but I did watch Wrestle Mania this past year.

Marcella: On May 28, 2008, you welcomed twins into this crazy world, First off, belated congratulations. How did you feel when you realized you were going to have twins?
Amy Weber: Scared and Excited.

Marcella: What does it feel like being a mother?
Amy Weber: It is the best job in the world. I am lucky that I can still pursue my career and be a Mom.

Marcella: Marc and I are huge fans of both of your songs (‘Ghost’ and ‘Wrapped Around’)! What can we expect from the already released debut album and is there any other musical projects coming along?
Amy Weber: The songs are already available for download on Itunes, CD Baby and Rhapsody. I plan to possibly shoot a music video and complete my album which has 3 songs on it now.

Marcella: What other projects (other than the music) have you been up to?
Amy Weber: I did two character voices for a 3D animated pilot and also shot a film that has been making the festival rounds. I just shot a show for USA Network and will continue to pursue my acting career as well as my hosting gigs and music.

Marcella: Let’s play one word Associations!
Amy Weber: JBL; Smart
Joy Giovanni; Diverse
Vince McMahon; Business
Stephanie McMahon; Clever
Michelle McCool; Athletic
Torrie Wilson; Puppy
Big Show; Protective
Randy Orton; Dirtbag
John Cena; Real Deal
Christy Hemme; Energy

Marcella: Thank you so much for agreeing to this question and answer session. Is there anything you like to say to your fans or plug?
Amy Weber: Check out my website www.amyweber.com for updates!!

  1. hey what happend on the last day that made her quit something about incident on a plane

Comment by MikeL on 22/10/2009 at 8:18 PM

  2. I would assume that the plane story had some truth to it. We didn’t get to into much of the detail of the whole situation due to the privacy of Amy Weber and the other wrestlers that were involved. Plus, we didn’t want to upset Amy.

  3. I like rko as an onscreen personality, but I still don’t know what to think of this even though I heard about it years ago. I just hope he’s grown up, they’ve put the title on him several times since then, so maybe he has.

  4. Wow… someone a little peeved that they aren’t a big time wwe diva… Sounds like it. As for her calling Randy Orton a dirt bag, I will say that is total BS! He is one of the nicest men I have ever met! Very respectful, especially of women. Always polite and considerate. At least if he is treated that way. Bottom line is when it comes to women though he is extremely respectful and polite. I would be more likely to believe that she made a move on him and he turned her down. He is a family man and so incredibly amazing! Really she needs to keep quiet about him. And you didn’t want to ask about something so you didn’t upset her?? What kind of interviewer are you?!?! I mean really if it helps her accusations then I think it should be addressed. I am certain she is not as clean in this mess as she wants you to believe.

  5. lets face it amy, you were porbably a tease and deserved everything you got from the boys!!

Comment by JShortz on 23/10/2009 at 2:31 AM

  6. She’s done nothing of note since leaving WWE so she had to go over old news of her time at WWE just to have something to talk about. Yes Randy did some nasty things but let it lie. It happened years ago and she’s sounding like a broken record repearing herself.

  7. Great interview – she comes across as a really nice and driven person, i was a real fan of her work on Smackdown!

  8. How about keep the comments CLEAN and respectful thank you very much. Amy Weber took the time out of her busy schedule to answer these questions for us.

Amanda, can you explain what you mean by saying
-”And you didn’t want to ask about something so you didn’t upset her?? What kind of interviewer are you?!?!”
If you don’t back up what you say it makes you look like you have a severe case of verbal diarrhea, which is blatent by the state of your comment.

Comment by Marc on 23/10/2009 at 6:53 PM

  9. Oh I understand what AMANDA meant, because fortunately, I can understand angry female gibberish.

To answer your obviously sarcastic questions, I don’t want to upset her, Randy Orton, the “other boys”, and the WWE. Unlike many people, I care for my reputation. And I really don’t need WWE and its talent and former talent ANGRY at me. And personally, the whole dilemma between Amy Weber and the boys isn’t my concern, as I can’t ask those boys for their side of the story. Therefore, I don’t want to delve too much into an issue where I can’t be fair and get information from all sides. And plus, why the fuck do I wanna fuel a firestorm between Amy Weber, the WWE, and male wrestlers involved? That would make no sense, especially, because I’m not two years old and want to aggravate personal issues.

Furthermore, I implore you to make a site and try to keep up with it. I’ll tell you guys a secret, getting interviews and actually interviewing these ladies is VERY hard work. To work on this site and do these interviews is almost like a job. So between, going to university full time, teaching two high school classes & one sunday school class, I don’t need the added stress of being making judgments on how well I interview. Try to take up all that’s in my plate! I teach THREE classes, two of which are students who are in a pickle because of many different issues regarding their low achievement. To top it all off, I help my parents take care a slow disintegrating 94 year old grandpa who has so many problems. So next time be more respectful before you diss my work. I rather you constructively criticize me, then outright diss my work. You don’t know what I go through day after day and struggles I face. It’s very rude to be so out rightly disrespectful. It’s not in my job description to do these interviews. It’s a privilege to the fans and my co-workers here that I make the time to do these, just so all the fans KNOW the real story behind the divas, knockouts, and ladies of wrestling.

  12. I simply meant a good interviewer should get the whole story. You made it sound weak. So Marc, I think it was plain that was what was meant as I followed that statement with “if it helps her accusations then I think it should be addressed.” Maybe I stepped on some toes with my comments but I will not retract a single word I said. Randy is a tremendous person and for her to single him out as she did was way off. I can definitely see some of the guys in the locker room being responsible for harassment, but I will assure you she needs to name other names.
As for all that is on your plate, that is one thing, but we all have things on our plates. I simply said that if part of the story should be discussed then the whole story should and a good interviewer would get the whole story for the fans reading it. If you took that as disrespect, fine, I can apologize for that. However, you say this was for fans to know the real story yet without all sides of the story that is impossible. Coming from someone blessed to know Randy, I think it is definitely disrespectful to write up only one side of something like this. Yes I am aware that this is a “diva” site, but I do not believe that lies and defamation of the male superstars should be allowed, and then you talk about respectfulness.
That being said, you have this online, and that opens it up to opinions from everyone. Those opinions are the persons and you nor Marc or anyone else needs to agree. However, don’t be offended when you get a post you disagree with. Maybe with so much on your plate you could share these interviewing duties with others, or at least learn to not be so easily offended by others thoughts and opinions when you opened up the forum for those.

  13. Okay…so…I think what my girl Amanda was trying to say is simply this: Amy Weber’s opinion of Randy Orton, and ours…because we are both incredibly blessed to have met Randy three times in the past few months…are completely and totally different. MAYBE when Amy knew him, he was a dirtbag, but I would hardly call a man who loves his wife and daughter as much as Mr. Orton does a dirtbag. He is so respectful and so sweet every single time I encounter him. I love Randy to death and he is one of my favorite people in the world. I never cared for Amy, and that’s my opinion, I am completely entitled to such, and I will defend Randy Orton til the day I die. He’s an amazing, sweet, kind person, and I have never seen him be rude or mean to anyone when he was out of character. In my eyes, the person you see on-screen is RKO…the man outside of the ring is Randy Orton,a wonderful husband, father, and friend.

  14. “I would hardly call a man who loves his wife and daughter as much as Mr. Orton does a dirtbag. He is so respectful and so sweet every single time I encounter him”

-But you didn’t work with him every day, all day. That’s all I’m saying Jenn.

Comment by The Royals on 26/10/2009 at 5:31 PM

  15. I really don’t care for the accusation between Orton and Amy.Because to be honest, I wasn’t a fan of Amy back then. She seems sweet nowadays. But I don’t know her from anywhere. I’m actually a big Randy Orton fan. I just don’t have the ability to get his side on this issue, because one— WWE stars can’t comment 2– this is a diva site. I didn’t want to open the proverbial can of worms with a huge all out discussion on why she left. She said her piece and I left it at that. I don’t mind your opinion about the whole Orton-Weber controversy. I have always been on the fence with that since I wasn’t there so I don’t know what Amy did or didn’t do and in the same respect what Orton did or didn’t do. I only did find offense when you were dissing my interviewing. I tried to make it as professional as I could without getting to involve with this sticky issue, because as I said again, I can’t get Randy Orton’s side and the others.

And another thing, Orton said himself that he did a lot of bad things, whether he did something to Amy or not. I would assume he has grown up leaps and bounds. But again, I can’t make a judgment because I don’t know the man, but that’s what my conjecture is.

And I know everyone has things on their plate. But this ties back to the fact that you were very rude about how I interviewed Amy. If you said to me, oh I think you gave Amy’s accusation leeway. I would have responded that it wasn’t my intentions, and I would have placed a warning as to why I didn’t delve into the issue more.

I wasn’t trying to be defensive at all. But, when you see someone say that what you were trying to do was a shit job, I can’t help but react. I try my best to be fair and impartial.

At no times, did I try to defame Randy Orton. I can’t help it that she said what she said. I could have been really biased and ask her what Orton did to her, and open up a whole firestorm, in which Orton couldn’t really reply to. To me, that wouldn’t be fair and basically disloyal to the fans, WWE, and myself
