Marcella of the The Royals sent a bunch of questions to former TNA Knockout and huge indy womens wrestler, Rain AKA Ms Peyton Banks. She told us how she developed her ring name, ‘Rain’, who she would like to face in WWE and much more! Thanks once again Rain!
OSD: First thing first, how did you get into the wrestling business?
Rain: My cousin’s now husband was a wrestler and asked us to manage him, after that I asked if I could train to wrestle. It took off from there.
OSD: How did your develop the name “Rain”?
Rain: It’s my middle name.
OSD: You formed The Minnesota Home-Wrecking Crew with an independent semi-retired wrestler named Lacey. Can you explain how that team formed and what were the highlights of the team?
Rain: We wrestled each other so much we knew each other sooo well. We had a business meeting and decided to team together and dominate the tag team scene. The highlights are every match we had together. Most of all how we dominated together in ROH and Shimmer.
OSD: Now, you have formed a tag team with Britain’s own Jetta. How has it been working with her?
Rain: I love working with Jetta. She’s a great partner and always has my back. We KILL IT together.
OSD: How was working in TNA different from working in independent promotions?
Rain: Bigger company, Bigger expectations, More employees. Tight run shift.
To read how Rain got offered a job in TNA, which Divas she would love to face and alot more, carry on reading!
OSD: How did you get offered the deal with TNA?
Rain: I was called up to be his assistant when I was in class actually. I left class and went right to work for Robert.
OSD: What was it like working with Robert Roode and Traci Brooks?
Rain: Working with Robert was a great experience, and I didn’t work with Traci, I fought Traci.
OSD: What did you think of the name Peyton Banks and who came up with it?
Rain: It was a friend of mine who works for TNA who came up with the name and I loved it.
OSD: How did you feel when you suddenly weren’t needed in the TNA angle with Robert Roode?
Rain: I had to start my internship, so it came at the perfect time actually.
OSD: What was the atmosphere like in the backstage area of TNA?
Rain: BUSY!!!!!!!
OSD: Did you make any friends with the Knockouts?
Rain: Almost all of the girls, but my closest friends from there are Angelina, Kong, Roxxi, Raisha Saeed, and Velvet.
OSD: Would you ever return back to TNA?
Rain: Of course!
OSD: One of our readers, Clarence, wanted to know if you would ever go to WWE?
Rain: Of course.
OSD: Another one of our readers, Amy, wanted to know which TNA knockout or WWE diva would you most like to face?
Rain: I would love to face Kong in singles, and I would like to wrestle Mickie James or Beth in singles, because I never got the chance to on the indies.
OSD: Sandra, a loyal reader of ours, wanted to know if you watched TNA or WWE? If so, which one you liked better.
Rain: I don’t really have time to watch any tv.
OSD: Trisha, our loyal bosslady, wanted to know how you felt being ranked 26th in the PWI Female 50?
Rain: It doesn’t bother me, I know where my skill is at.
OSD: One of our staff members, Marc, wanted to know how you came up with your finisher Acid Rain and Rain Drop?
Rain: Just say Jake the Snake Roberts and Manami Toyota.
OSD: Let’s play a game of one Word Associations.
Rain: A) Gail Kim – Very Sweet
B) Sharmell – Beautiful
C) Robert Roode – Tough Boss
D) Traci Brooks – Tough
E) Booker T – What can you say? He’s Booker T. He knows his stuff.
