Posted by The Royals January 3rd, 2010 Filed In End Of Year Awards Add Comments [3]

Welcome ladies, gentlemen and all visitors to The Royals third annual end of year awards but this is our first on OhSoDivalicious alongside owner, Trisha! There’s a whole bunch of different awards you voted for and the four main ones (Diva, Knockout, Champion and Woman of the year) will be announced in a different post later on. Also, keep an eye out for special staff only awards us staff conjured up just for fun!

So, let’s cut the crap and get this show on the road! This is who YOU voted for to win the OhSoDivalicious End Of Year Awards 2009!

Each year, new female wrestlers debut in WWE and TNA, some even make an impactful return to the other company. The following five ladies made quite an impression on their debut. The nominees for debut of the year:
Lacey Von Erich, Hamada, Gail Kim, Tara and Sarita
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

The WWE had sixteen diva trades this whole year! It was cut down to the top five trades that made the most impact and caused the most change. The nominees for Diva trade of the year:
Beth Phoenix to SmackDown!, Mickie James to SmackDown!, Alicia Fox to RAW, Melina to RAW and Maryse to RAW
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

In this award, a couple consists of a Superstar and a Diva or Knockout. Whether that couple dominated their divisions, whether the Superstar used his girlfriend, whether one is smitten and the other only cares about shopping or whatever the story may be within the couple, this award optimizes it! The nominees for couple of the year:
Glamarella (Beth Phoenix & Santino Marella), Maria & Dolph Ziggler, Rosa Mendes & Zack Ryder, Kristal & Bobby Lashley and SoCal Val & Sonjay Dutt
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

To see the rest of the end of year awards for 2009 which you voted for, then continue reading!

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

A lot of Knockout and Divas have upped their game this year. They proved that they are more than a pretty face. They are talented atheletes who will kick you ass! The nominees are only a few of the ladies who showed the world that they are indeed tough enough to be in the wrestling business! . The nominees for most improved of the year:
Eve Torres, Layla, Alicia Fox, Madison Rayne and Kelly Kelly
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

In wrestling, there’s always things that make you cringe and yell “OMG”, “WTF” or “OMGWTF!” so that is what this award is about. The top five of those crazy unexpected things are the nominees for OMGWTF Moment of the year:
Courtney Taylor chases a tiger with a golf club, Jillian wins the Divas title, Daffney is put through thumbtacks, Raisha Saeed’s last match and sudden depature and THAT Mickie/Gail match
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

To be considered underrated, a Diva or Knockout has to be rarely used or not used to their potential. Talented women fall through the cracks of these companies and don’t achieve their potential. They are stopped by the proverbial “glass ceiling”. They don’t receive pushes or title reigns they deserve. They are allowed to use their talents by doing mediocre things, such as managing someone with talent or someone with NO future whatsoever or being involved with skits or have a stupid gimmick or putting over other talent. All the while, they have the ability to be great champions and the top of their companies, but yet they are not. The nominees for most underrated:
Jillian Hall, Sojourner Bolt, Natalya, Alissa Flash / Raisha Saeed and Katie Lea
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

A few things come to mind when someone says a certain Diva or Knockout is overrated. They “win” all the time. They are constantly pushed by their respected company. The most common idea of over rated is when a certain person holds a belt too long or always gets a title shot. There’s some ladies that are “shoved down our throats” and led to be believed as “the most powerful, the baddest, the most talented, etc”. And people think, “what’s so great about them?”. Well, the nominees for most overrated:
Melina, Michelle McCool, Sarita, Tara and Taylor Wilde
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Each wrestler has their own individual moveset and in those movesets are some devastating and some cool finishing maneuvers. We’ve compliled a list of the top five we think were the best. The nominees for finisher of the year:
Beth Phoenix’s Glam Slam, Awesome Kong’s Implant Buster, Tara’s Widow’s Peak, Gail Kim’s Eat Defeat and Michelle McCool’s Faith Breaker
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Sudden depatures and huge shocks send trembles down the wrestling community. This award shows what you think was the biggest shock in women’s wrestling this past year. The nominees for biggest shock of the year:
Lacey Von Erich joins the Beautiful People, Tara’s sudden retirement from WWE & debut in TNA, Linda McMahon resigns as CEO of WWE, TNA’s release of Angelina Love and The return of Vickie Guerrero as Eric Escobar’s girlfriend
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

The good girls are what get the crowd pumped up before their match and leave them all happy when they win! The nominees for babyface of the year:
Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, Taylor Wilde, Tara and Melina
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

There’s alot of bitches in the world of women’s wrestling and we rounded up the five biggest bitches of this past year for this award! The nominees for bitch of the year:
Maryse, Vickie Guerrero, The Beautiful People, Michelle McCool and Alissa Flash
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

In 2009 we saw the introduction of RAW Guest Hosts, celebrity appearances and even a former Survivor winner joining the ranks of the TNA Knockouts so, these five ladies are the nominees for celeb of the year:
Jenna Morasca, Nancy O’Dell, Maria Menounos, Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Feuds tear apart brands and divisions and this year in TNA and WWE, the women’s divisions have been ripped down the middle with a bunch of fierce feuds. We’ve picked out the top five. The nominees for feud of the year:
Taylor Wilde vs. Daffney, Melina vs. Michelle McCool, Maryse vs. Mickie James, Tara vs. Angelina Love and Tara vs. Awesome Kong
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Big matches are usually an accumulation of feuds (as seen above!). The nominees for match of the year:
Raisha Saeed vs. Awesome Kong (iMPACT!), Survivor Series Diva Tag Match (Survivor Series), Sarita vs. Hamada (iMPACT!), Michelle McCool vs. Melina (Night Of Champions) and Taylor Wilde & Abyss vs. Daffney & Raven (Slammiversary)
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Hello…. Goodbye! It seems as though, the Divas or Knockouts presence wasn’t felt. It raises the ire of who exactly are you. It could be the long awaited return that we never got. Someone could have been released and suddenly come back again. This category merits the Divas and Knockouts that just plain confuse us. Are they in WWE or TNA? Are they gone? What exactly has happened? And more importantly, where did you go? The nominees for the Hello….goodbye? award:
Candice Michelle, Lauren Mayhew, Traci Brooks, Christy Hemme and Roxxi
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Female backstage interviewers are more common now than ever in the wrestling industry and many come and go. But it’s the ones who do a good job at interviewing that spring to mind. The nominees for interviewer of the year:
Lauren, Courtney Taylor, Savannah, Eve Torres and SoCal Val
and the winner is:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Divas and Knockouts are deadly when they’re on their own, but when there’s two or more of them, they’re practically unstoppable! The nominees for alliance of the year:
The Beautiful People (Angelina, Madison & Velvet), The Beautiful People (Lacey, Madison & Velvet), Sarita & Taylor Wilde, Michelle McCool & Layla and Raisha Saeed & Awesome Kong
and the winners are:

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Jillian Hall’s got talent! That’s right! Jillian may not have won the most underrated woman of the year, but this pop princess has her own award, just for her! Not only does Jillian wrestle in the ring, but she sings on the mic for us too. This award is for Jillian’s best musical performance! The musical performances up for nomination for the Jillian’s Got Talent award are:
Happy Birthday, Paparazzi, America The Beautiful, Saints Go Marching In and Close My Eyes Forever & Oops, I Did It Again!
and the winning song is: Paparazzi!

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

The Most Beautiful aka The Most Hollering Moments are the incidents where the Beautiful People shine. These are the moments that define what it takes to be one of them. These are the moments were they show that they are more than pretty faces and silly catchphrases. Most importantly, these are the moments were Angelina Love, Velvet Sky, Madison Rayne, and Lacey Von Erich catapulted The Beautiful People to the top of TNA. There were many hollering moments and some ‘ugly’. But with a little love and lace, and a whole lotta perfume, makeup, bags, and ugly sticks, the cleansing never ends! The nominees for this prestigious Most Hollering Moment award are:
Beating up the ‘Governor’, Angelina Love wins the Knockouts title, Interview with Lauren, Lacey Von Erich’s debut and Meanest Girls #1
and the winner is: Angelina Love wins the Knockouts title!

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

That’s it ladies and gents! Thank you so much for voting in these awards and remember, stay tuned for the four awards (Woman, Diva, Knockout & Champion of the year) and our very own kooky staff awards! Thank you, thank you!
