OSD Exclusive: Annie Social Interview

The OhSoDivalicious family had the privilege and honor of getting in touch with Annie Social. She most graciously accepted our offer of an interview.  In the course of our dialogue with Annie Social, we have come to know her as a very sweet, caring, and genuine individual. She’s a very talented wrestler with a great personality and unique ‘bitter’ persona.  Annie Social shared with us her entry into the wrestling business, her favorite opponents,  her thoughts on the current music scene,  and so much more We would like to express our deepest and utmost gratitude to her for granting this interview and allowing us to get to know her. Check the interview out and learn about Annie Social aka Nancy Becker!

Thank you for agreeing to do this interview. How are you doing today?
Annie Social: I’m great!

How did you get into the wrestling business?
Annie Social: I was working at a bar in Center City (Philadelphia) and a promoter for WEW and DWOW came in to visit a girl I worked with. He asked me if I’d like to be a part of their event as an oil wrestler and I agreed. I oil wrestled for a few years at their live events and decided that I wanted to train to be a pro wrestler. A friend I met at DWOW/WEW introduced me to Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere and I began training at their school. I also trained with Gary Wolf, Mike Kehner and Sumie Sakai during my time there.

You weren’t a fan of wrestling when you were growing up, but rather a fan of boxing. How does your love of boxing affect your wrestling style?
Annie Social: Watching boxing and training as a boxer helped me tremendously. Everything from the footwork drills to the conditioning drills comes in handy in wrestling. I’m also able to protect myself a bit more in the ring.

What were your thoughts on your debut match? Who did you face?
Annie Social: I had several matches at DWOW and WEW before what I would count as my pro debut. After training for several months at PWU, I was put in a tag match. I tagged with Sumie Sakai against Mickie Knuckles and Amy Lee. I honestly didn’t feel quite ready at the time. Had I been better prepared, I would have done a much better job. It was definitely a learning experience. All of the wrestlers involved in that match are exceedingly good at what they do. I just wish I was more skilled at the time. If I could go back and do it over again, I definitely would.

Are there any wrestlers that influenced your wrestling or gimmick?
Annie Social: The guys I trained with influenced my wrestling a lot. I trained 4 days a week with Devon Moore and Detox and I feel like I took a lot from both of their styles.

Read after the cut about  her favorite opponents, Roxxie Cotton, Alexa Thatcher, and so much more!

FCW Divas Finally Get A Title!

By the looks of the images, was it actually worth the wait?! Above this post is a look at the brand new FCW Diva’s title, made by the creator of the Knockout’s Title and the Knockout Tag Titles. To be honest, I’m not a fan of his work, so in my opinion going to him for the FCW Diva’s title was a bad move, but what do I know? A title belt is better than a crown, obviously. Are you yay or nay for this replacing a tacky crown or is the belt just overly tacky/ugly that you’d prefer the crown?

More Exclusive Interviews: Lufisto, Lovely Lacey & Miss Alicia

OSD’s official representative and one half of The Royals, Marcella, continues to be very busy even during her leave of absence from OSD! She’s received word from three more popular female wrestlers – LuFisto, The Lovely Lacey and Miss Alicia!

Lufisto ( aka  Genny Goulet) has been training to wrestle from the age of 17.  Since debuting in 1997, LuFisto has been involved with many federations such as Combat Zone Wrestling, Shimmer Women Athletes, & nCw Femme Fatales.  Ms. Goulet has taken part in death matches.  The Ontario Athletics Commission even stopped a match between her and a male from occurring, which essentially banned her from wrestling in Ontario. However, that whole situation was resolved.  Most recently, LuFisto has been recovering from a stroke. She is still scheduled to face Sara Del Rey at Femme Fatales Vol. 3.

Miss Alicia ( aka Melinda Stumpp) is better known for her work in  Shimmer Women Athletes, Women Superstars Uncensored, Ring of Honor, & Jersey All Pro Wrestling.  At the age of 23 years old,  she has held many titles, especially in WSU. Alicia trained to become a wrestler while still in high school! She debuted in 2002 and “retired” in 2007.  She made appearances and return shortly thereafter in 2008.  She is currently on the path of WSU Championship that is currently held by Mercedes Martinez. Did we mention that Alicia was the first ever WSU Champion? And oh yeah, she’s already held it twice!

The Lovely Lacey has been involved with Ring of Honor, Shimmer Women Athletes, IWA-Mid South, Full Impact Pro, NWA Midwest, Chikara, ChickFight, & Wrestling Society X. Most recently, Lacey has become a voodoo witch in Wrestlicious, named White Magic. Lacey is known as a wrestler and also a manager. She is also a member of the Minnesota HomeWrecking Crew with  RAIN and the International HomeWrecking Crew with JETTA. Lacey debuted in 2000 and retired in 2008. Now, she is semi-retired as she makes appearances & wrestles/manages.

SD, Smacked Down! – Short + Sweet!

This week on Smackdown, there wasn’t a match, so there is no Fashion Focus or a Tan-O-Meter.

LayCool were backstage with Josh Matthews and they went on to talk about how they won a handicapped match, two on one Woman’s Champion, so therefor they both came out as a champion. This allowed them to show off their charismatic mic skills and taunt an injured Glamazon whilst also getting some heat from the crowd. That’s all, folks!

Be Sexy! Maryse To Launch A Makeup Line Soon

According to RedHotDivas, Maryse Ouellet will be bringing out her very own makeup line this coming September via her official website. I’m quite excited for this, as I’m sure Maryse will know what works and what doesn’t with makeup. We’ll keep you all updated with anymore news from this.

Daffney, Melina & Angelina injury updates

Dixie Carter posted the following on her twitter concerning two injured TNA Knockouts:

Great news. Angelina Love and Daffney have been cleared for action & will be back in the coming weeks. We have missed you guys.

Daffney got suffered a badly bruised sternum in a tryout match, due to the hands of Rosie Lottalove (who is debuting this week on iMPACT!). Whilst Angelina Lovesuffered a bicep tear in April during a triple threat match against Tara and Madison Rayne. PWInsider are reporting the following about former Divas and Women’s Champion, Melina, who tore her ACL in December:

WWE Diva Melina’s scheduled return to the ring from her ACL tear has been pushed back as she’s been ordered to undergo another two months of rehabilitation before she will be cleared for a WWE return. That puts her at a scheduled return in mid-late July, a month behind the original expectations.

We’re so glad the Knockouts are gonna be back soon and that Melina is on the mend!
