NXT Up – Week 2 – The Joke’s On You

Welcome to NXT Up, OhSoDivalicious.org’s version of the Big Brother Bitch in UK newspaper The Sun, where I’ll talk about who impressed us each week on NXT. Similar to the Divalicious Dozen, but with a little bitchy twist! After a pretty impressive start to things last week, did the NXT Rookies live up to expectations this time round?

Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn won her mixed tag team match with her Pro’s beau Dolph Ziggler, but also ignited a little green-eyed monster in Vickie… Juicy! She also completed the obstacle course in an impressive 36.5 seconds with style points! In the joke-off, more of this lady’s spunky personality shined through, which is why she’s shoved Naomi off of the top spot. OHH, and I think I get it now… KGB?! Kaitlyn Gives Bitch-Slaps! Duh!

Naomi
Oh dear, what happened here?! It seems this week that the crowd got up and left her with a bunch of haters! Sure, they cheered for her when she was introduced, then they just seemed to up and leave as she told her joke. It was funny, y’all! She also dropped a spot this week because of her silly mistakes in the obstacle course, the ref wasn’t against her, he was being fair, she did miss a tyre at the start and uh, well, it just didn’t go well from there, did it? Although, this guuuurl’s ghetto-stylings of picking up Maxine’s $20 earns her some Brownie points too!

Maxine
With five jokes in the ring with her and a lovely video package, Maxine isn’t moving this week. She spends $20 on A.J. Lee, hoping to get some Thin Mints, but instead gets into a brawl! Aside from falling about everywhere in the obstacle course, if she didn’t drop off of the balance beam, I’m sure she would have done really well. Maxine’s still a feisty favourite, I’m sure she’ll step it up next week.

Jamie Keyes
Congratulations to Jamie for winning a challenge and winning her match. On paper, it sounds good, but on television, there’s the reasons why she didn’t shoot to the top of the rankings. I loved how she got the crowd involved in her Knock Knock joke, and they did too obviously, since they voted her to win. She got a little too cocky, or just tired, in the obstacle course which prevented her from beating Kaitlyn’s time. She won her match by a roll-up. I guess it’s fairly obvious her Pros have been teaching her “Sneaky Ringwork 101″, but it’s not impressive.

A.J. Lee
The other Rookies just LOVE to pick on lil A.J. don’t they? Bless her, she got chosen not once, but twice to get started on in the Joke Off and she lost her mixed tag match! She fought back both times, so it’s pretty clear that it’ll take a lot to hold her down. Haters (Michael Cole) gonna hate, but A.J. tried her best in the obstacle course, but it wasn’t even a “close but no cigar” story. She’s going to have to speed up against the other Rookies and win some competitions if she wants to impress. I did like her joke though.

Aksana
I feel as though I’m being harsh on poor Aksana as she drops down to the bottom this week after losing her match. Aksana’s joke was nowhere near funny, which adds to points against her. She did pretty well in the obstacle course, however, so I have a feeling she’ll be fighting to shoot up the NXT Up rankings next week. I also feel like she carried Jamie through their match, but someone had to be at the bottom… Atsiprašau!
