Welcome to this week’s edition of Starstruck! As usual we see the pointless intro, which seems to be edited with newer clips? We see glimpses of Maryse, Eve, Michelle, Gail, Melina, Kelly, Beth and Layla – WHY isn’t Nattie in this intro?! She competes on Superstars more than other divas!
We see a graphic advertising the divas tag team match – most of the pictures are old, Melina’s is back from 2007? Well from around there! Alicia’s is the only current one.
Melina and Alicia are out first to Melina’s music, they appear to be along the same lines with the colours they are wearing, Alicia’s hair is all big and affro ish! (Oh how I missed that look xD). They do their usual entrance and then pose on the ropes as we go to commercial break. We come back from the break to see them still in the ring. Natalya‘s music then hits and both Gail and Nattie come out together. Gail appears to be wearing a brand spankin’ new white and red attire – it’s hot! Nattie is reusing, how creative of her. Melina and Alicia talk trash, Gail and Alicia then get out of the ring as the bell rings, Melina and Nattie will start.
They go to lock up but Nattie goes underneath Mel’s arm and goes for a quick roll up, which doesn’t even get a one count. Nattie then gets her into a headlock and takes her to the ground, Melina then reverses into a headscissors hold, the two then get to their feet and Nattie once again gets Melina into a headlock. Melina whips Nattie into the ropes, who then reverses and attempts another roll up but Melina holds onto the ropes, Nattie then kips up and monkey flips her over into a pin, one count. Nattie goes for a suplex but Alicia comes in and makes the save, she then gets chased out of the ring for her efforts, Nattie gets a hold of Alicia and won’t let go, oopsies Leesh, you ticked her off. Nattie then turns round and gets met with a kick, which rolls into the splits, from Melina, pin, two count. Mel and Leesh take turns to choke Nattie in the corner. After a few kicks and punches from Meli, tag to Alicia, who also puts a boot to Nattie and then distracts the ref as Melina tries to be naughty. Snapmare take down by Leesh, pin attempt, another two count. Gail is begging for a tag at this point. Alicia then hits a beautiful Northern Lights suplex, which gets yet another two count. Melina is pissy and talks smack to the ref. Tag to Melina. A failed double team occurred, I had to watch it twice to understand what happened, it looked weird (because of the poor camera work), turns out Meli went to kick Nattie but got Leesh instead. Meli stops Nattie from making a tag and does a weird hip drop, honey, you ain’t big enough to do that, you ain’t Viscera. Melina then uses her flexibility to apply two submissions at once, she applies a body scissors and some form of a sleeper hold, Scott Stanford said it was a dragon sleeper hold but can you really trust anything he says? He gets everything wrong! Nattie struggles to her feet and whips Melina over onto the mat. Meli tries to be naughty and goes to smack Gail but Gail ducks and puts her fist up, Melina backs away and gets back body dropped by Nattie. Tag to Alicia, tag to Gail. Gail hits a weird looking dropkick and then stumbles, oh dear, she recovers and hits a nice running clothesline which is followed up by a nice hurricanrana! Alicia stumbles to the corner and Gail takes the chance to hit her running shoulder attack move, which she follows up with a diving front dropkick, pin attempt, Melina breaks it up at two. Meli and Leesh try a double team, but as they are against the ropes Nattie pulls Melina down and out of the ring. Gail hits the eat defeat for the win, YAY!
Gail and Nattie hug in celebration, they also high ten each other, woo! We then see replays of the diving dropkick, the failed double team and then finally the eat defeat. Gail and Nattie wave byebyes and blow kisses to Melina and Alicia as Alicia looks grumpy and Meli talks trash.
Despite a couple of sloppy spots, I found this to be a great match! It was great to see Gail get another win!
