From Extreme Dancers To Champions

Cast your minds back to a Tuesday night, some time in early January of 2007. Kelly Kelly was a regular on WWE’s ECW show, but this night she brought a couple of friends with her; Layla and Brooke Adams (now known as TNA’s Miss Tessmacher). Layla, Kelly and Brooke were collectively known as Extreme Exposé, and danced their hearts out every Tuesday night. All three were slated for their dancing gimmicks, nobody thinking that the three extreme dancers would go on to become champions in their respected companies.

Layla

British born Diva Search winner Layla was the first of the three to grab the gold. Layla joined the blue brand in 2009 and caused minor chaos on her own before teaming with her with her then BFFL Michelle McCool and becoming a force to be reckoned with in the Divas division. Collectively known as Laycool, Layla and Michelle terrorised every blue brand Diva they could get their hands on. Eventually, The Glamazon was a victim of the mean girls and Layla managed to score a pinfall over her in a handicap match to become the very last WWE Women’s champion (and the first British champ!). Lay held the gold for around four months, before Michelle McCool unified it with the Divas championship. Relive Layla’s title win by clicking here.

Kelly Kelly

Kelly Kelly was the second member of the extreme dance group to win a championship belt. Kelly came a long way from the land of extreme. She was drafted to RAW, Smackdown and then RAW again, where eventually she managed to net the butterfly belt. After several failed attempts at defeating Brie Bella for the WWE Divas title, Kelly Kelly was voted to face Brie for the belt again by the WWE Universe on a special ‘Power to the People’ edition of RAW. During the match K2 reversed a pin from Brie Bella to get the three count and earn her first championship in the WWE. Relive K2′s win here.

Miss Tessmacher

After a year long tenure of being an extreme dancer on ECW, Brooke was released from her WWE contract. That was in 2007 and it wasn’t until 2010 that Brooke crossed the line and signed with iMPACT! Wrestling. Brooke, now known as Miss Tessmacher, was the sexy secretary assistant for Eric Bischoff. She was later ‘promoted’ to Knockouts Law but Tessmacher abused the power and was given an ultimatum by Bischoff; get lost or get in the ring with the Knockouts. Tessmacher took up the challenge, perfected her in-ring skills and hopped in the ring. After an unsuccessful Knockouts title shot against friend Mickie James, Tessmacher teamed with Tara to go on and defeat Rosita and Sarita for the Knockouts Tag titles. Relive Brooke… Miss Tessmacher’s title win with Tara here.
