Last week on NXT saw the return of the ‘Ice Queen’, Maxine. She took out AJ Lee from behind before helping her boyfriend Derrick Bateman defeat Titus in a singles match. This week saw the two former rookie Divas go head to head in a singles match. But first, Maxine and Bateman backstage…

We get a recap of Maxine’s attack on AJ last week before NXT goes backstage where Bateman is giving his girlfriend a shoulder rub. Bateman says that they are the hottest couple in WWE, to which Maxine replies “OBVIOUSLY!”, like duh! When Bateman wins NXT, the hottest couple in WWE are gonna be more powerful than Steph and Trips, more provocative than Ledge and even bigger than Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire.. Um, who? Maxine didn’t like that last one.

Maxine’s worried about her match, as Hornswoggle’s really sneaky. But she’s determined to get rid of “that little twit” known as AJ Lee. Bateman calms Maxine’s nerves about Hornsy by saying he has a little suprise for him later, to which she replies she’ll have a suprise for him later too. She pulls him closer and whispers dirty things in his ear. Cue Maxine’s exit and a pervy smile from Bateman.

It’s time for Divas action! Out comes AJ Lee and Hornswoggle to that annoying Anime-ish music. “IF YOU WANT IT, COME AND GET IT!” is heard blaring across the PA system and out comes Maxine and Derrick Bateman. Maxine walks down the ramp and into the ring with a constant dirty smirk on her face.

The bell rings and Maxine goes straight at AJ with a huge clothesline. The dorky Diva ducks and as Maxine turns back around, she pounces on her. AJ pummels at Maxine with forearms. AJ sends Maxine into the turnbuckle head first. Not once, not twice, but three times! Maxine feeds out, holding her head as AJ bounces off the ropes and hits a huge flying clothesline. Maxine rolls out the ring and screams something at Bateman. AJ follows and knocks Maxine down with a forearm. She throws Maxine back into the ring but wastes her time, telling Bateman to stay out of it. This allows Maxine to deliver a huge kick to the side of AJ’s head.

Maxine covers but only gets a two count. She locks AJ in a sleeper. After several attempts to break it, Maxine unlocks her grip and drives elbows into the neck of AJ. She puts AJ back into the hold and once again, the plaid wearing Diva fights up. Maxine clubs her in the back to cut her off and drives her knee into the side of AJ’s head. Two count. Maxine mouths off at Hornswoggle in a lovely screechy voice.

AJ’s face eats canvas a couple of times before Maxine kneels on her back and grabs her in a chin lock. The crowd get behind AJ again and the “GIVE UP” screeches from Maxine aren’t enough, so Maxine slams AJ’s head into the mat again. Maxine drops down to one knee as she sends AJ into the corner. The powerful Irish whip knocks AJ down. A nice suplex to AJ and Maxine gets yet another two count. The ‘Queen of Mean’ screams at the ref. She chokes AJ on the ropes for a bit before breaking her face off the turnbuckle.

Maxine flings AJ out of the corner by her hair with ease. Another two count from Maxine makes her mad. She picks AJ up and goes for another suplex, but it is countered into a small package by AJ. A quick count sees AJ send Maxine down with a clothesline and for some odd reason, Maxine goes for a pin. Maxine is definitely not pleased with another two count, so she grabs AJ by the hair and locks her into another hold.

The ‘Geek Goddess’ fights up but is sent right back down with a European uppercut. Maxine Irish whips AJ off the ropes and bends down ready to deliver a nasty back body drop. However, AJ ruins the fun and kicks Maxine. Maxine flies up as AJ runs off the ropes again. She runs into a huge, powerful big boot from Maxine though! The bad bitch storms around the ring, irate, foaming at the mouth, screaming and shouting at everyone and everything. Maxine wasted her time though.

She goes to pick AJ up but AJ breaks out of her grip and knocks her back with a few forearms before whacking Maxine back with a massive back kick. Maxine reverses an Irish whip into the corner, but like Spiderman, AJ clings onto the ropes and bounces back with a flying corner crossbody! She gets a two count, but on the outside we can see Bateman is stalking Hornswoggle. Lee hits a low dropkick on Maxine and turns around to see Bateman push Hornswoggle to the ground. AJ is not happy, but takes her eye off the bitchy ball and that very bitchy ball rolls her up for the three!

Maxine and Bateman don’t have much time to celebrate however, as an angry Titus legs it down the ramp and flies into the ring. WWE’s hottest couple flee the ring, NOT impressed about their celebration being ruined!
