Dixie Carter talks Brooke Hogan

In a recent interview to promote her federation, Impact Wrestling, Dixie Carter mentioned on her reasoning for bringing in Brooke Hogan as the new Knockouts Executive. Here’s what she had to say:

This division is very important to me…for women to get out there and do this, I feel like we have to set a certain standard that needs to be better than anything else that’s out there. We have the best female wrestlers on the planet…she has been living and breathing wrestling her entire life…she has gotten to learn and see…I remember being seven sitting there as my dad was talking business. She has always learned from this, she is a big star in her own right. We need somebody to help give them more exposure. She is not going to wrestle. One of the biggest things she will do for us is give the spotlight they deserve.

WWE ’13 Diva Roster

Just in from the Wrestling Observer, a total of TEN WWE Divas – past and present – will be featured in the brand new WWE ’13 game coming this fall. The game is heavily influenced by the Attitude Era, so three Divas from hat time will be in the game.

Current Era Divas

Attitude Era Divas

Surprisingly, Rosa Mendes isn’t featured in this years game whereas the tag team she is managing, Epico and Primo, are. Anyway, it’s very likely that once again this year, there will be an all Diva DLC pack to download. Hopefully then Divas such as Natalya and Divas who haven’t made a game appearance yet like AJ, Maxine, Aksana, Kaitlyn and Tamina will be available to play.

5 Minutes 3 Minutes 50 Seconds With Velvet Sky

Velvet Sky sat down recently to discuss how she got into wrestling, who inspired her, Impact Wrestling, her finisher and much more. On her inspiration, Sky noted former WWE Women’s champion Lita. Here’s what she said:

I was watching, you know at the time, Lita, on the programming and she just really inspired me and I would just watch her and go “I wanna do that, I could do that, she’s so cool! I wanna do what she does!”

The Top 12: May 27th

After nearly a two year hiatus, The Top 12 (formally known as the Divalicious Dozen) has returned to OhSoDivalicious. If you aren’t familiar with ‘The Top 12′ then here’s the drift; it’s just like WWE.com’s ‘Power 25′ feature but ours is much smaller (and better). Ours counts down the top twelve women of wrestling each week. Let’s get on with it with our number twelve, shall we?

#12 – BROOKE HOGAN

Last week: #11
Last week it was announced that Brooke Hogan would be joining Impact Wrestling as the Knockouts Executive. This Thursday Impact goes live and Brooke Hogan debuts, let’s see what she brings to the division.

Brooke Hogan praises Velvet Sky

TNA’s new Knockout Executive Brooke Hogan was on the Busted Open radio show recently, where she had positive things to say about certain former Knockouts champions…

I think Velvet Sky is incredible. I think she is really, really good. ODB I think has already made a name for herself. I think she is self-sufficient. She has her little gimmick. She is a little raunchy. That’s what I love about her. But if you met Velvet in person, she is the sweetest, sweetest person. So polite. Such a sweetheart. That girl works so hard. She is dieting and training. She is wrestling in the ring even when they are not taping or filming. She is just working her butt off. I really think she deserves a push. I think she could be the next big thing in the Knockouts division.

Hmm… Perhaps Brooke could arrange something? Elsewhere on the show, Brooke also mentioned how her famous father, Hulk Hogan, had no idea she was joining TNA.

I’ve been around [wrestling] for so long. Me and Dixie Carter were throwing around some ideas and as I was doing that, she was like “you know more about this than I thought you would.” So that’s how the whole thing came about. My dad didn’t actually even know that I was talking to her about doing this. Actually I think I gave him a heart attack.

Queen of the Jungle?

WWE.com has posted up another one of their exclusive articles. ‘Which of WWE’s young lions could become king?’ takes a look at up and coming Superstars who could eventually make it big time in the WWE – one of those Superstars is NXT Diva, Maxine.

As new Divas Champion Layla’s shocking return confirmed, anything can happen in WWE’s Divas division. With the stunning firing of The Bella Twins, the defeat of dominant former champion Beth Phoenix at WWE Over the Limit, AJ’s battle with emotional matters of the heart and Eve entrenched in her Executive Administrator role, perhaps the timing has never been better for an up-and-coming beauty to emerge into prominence. And that femme fatale is Maxine.

Dazzling, calculating and volatile, Maxine is a no-nonsense Diva who gets what she wants. After a successful run on WWE NXT, the foul-tempered bombshell debuted on Raw SuperShow on May 7. Although at a glance she appears beautiful and composed, Maxine is a fierce and feral beast inside the squared circle – and often outside, too. She fights dirty, screaming and pulling hair, and many opponents have learned the hard way that once she locks in her Dragon Sleeper finisher, it’s lights out. When Maxine can’t get what she wants in the ring, she has shown no hesitation to use her feminine wiles to manipulate men, as Derrick Bateman, Johnny Curtis and William Regal have all fallen under her spell.

Without a doubt, Maxine will go on to utilize her varied talents on Raw, live up to her great potential and make her mark in the Divas division. As her entrance music declares, “If you want it, come and get it.”

I think it’s pretty cool they included a Diva on their list and I definitely think if she keeps doing what she’s doing, Maxine will be Queen of the Jungle one day in the WWE!
