The Top 12: May 20th

After nearly a two year hiatus, The Top 12 (formally known as the Divalicious Dozen) has returned to OhSoDivalicious. If you aren’t familiar with ‘The Top 12′ then here’s the drift; it’s just like WWE.com’s ‘Power 25′ feature but ours is much smaller (and better). Ours counts down the top twelve women of wrestling each week. Let’s get on with it with our number twelve, shall we?

————————————————————————————————————————————————

#12 – VELVET SKY

Last week: #11
Talking the talk backstage with Tessmacher, Velvet Sky failed to walk the walk as she came up short in a triple threat match for the TNA Knockouts championship.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

#11 – BROOKE HOGAN

Last week: #N/A
Announced earlier on in the week, Brooke Hogan will be joining Impact Wrestling as the Knockouts Executive. Not much about Brooke’s role is known yet – will she be on TV or Will she just be behind the scenes? Let’s just hope we’ve not got another Miss Karen on our hands or the Knockouts will be in for another huge slap in the face.

#10 – ALICIA FOX

Last week: #9
Alicia put up a grand effort against The Glamazon on RAW, but unfortunately she tasted the mat with a huge Glam Slam.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

#9 – MADISON RAYNE

Last week: #N/A
For the past two weeks in backstage segments, we’ve seen the cold hearted, self obsessed, self proclaimed ‘Killa Queen’ Madison Rayne walk around with her head in the clouds, blubbering about some boy. This week during a battle royal, she came out and scouted (one of several men/boys) on the stage. Just who is she pining over and what is her plan?!

————————————————————————————————————————————————

#8 – MAXINE

Last week: #6
After making Tamina tap out this week, Maxine faced off against nemesis Kaitlyn in another great NXT Divas match. Maxine however, was the one tapping out this time.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

#7 – AJ LEE

Last week: #4
After mauling her former BFFL last week, AJ took a step back this week. On RAW she wished CM Punk luck, but he called her unstable and walked off. Surely this won’t bode well for the ‘Geek Goddess’?!

————————————————————————————————————————————————

#6 – BETH PHOENIX

Last week: #N/A
The Glamazon defeated Alicia Fox this past Monday on RAW after hitting her with the show stopping, match ending, Divalicious Glam Slam. After the match, she tried to thump Foxy some more, but Divas champ Layla came running down and hit Beth with a spinning facebuster gaining an upper hand in the two’s feud. Can Beth reclaim what she believes is rightfully hers tonight at Over The Limit?

————————————————————————————————————————————————

#5 – KAITLYN

Last week: #N/A
Bursting onto the list this week is Smackdown and NXT Diva, Kaitlyn. The NXT Season 3 winner returned to the yellow brand this week and made ‘Queen of Mean’ Maxine, tap out in a brilliant bout between the two. Now, it’s about time WWE did something about her entrance song…

————————————————————————————————————————————————

#4 – BROOKE TESSMACHER

Last week: #3
Brooke Tessmacher failed to capture the TNA Knockouts championship twice this week! First at the TNA PPV, Gail cheated to retain the title and again on Thursday night Gail Kim cheated in a triple threat match, causing Brooke a chance to become champion once again.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

#3 – EVE TORRES

Last week: #1
The power hungry witch that is Eve Torres must have taken a chill pill this past week, as she only appeared on RAW once, delivering a letter to the General Manager.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

#2 – GAIL KIM

Last week: #7
What a turn around for the Knockouts champion! First off at Sacrifice on Sunday, Gail Kim managed to finally defeat Brooke Tessmacher – albiet by cheating – but she beat her nonetheless. Then this past Thursday on Impact Wrestling after Velvet Sky hit the In Yo’ Face to Brooke Tessmacher, Gail Kim flung her out of the ring and picked up Velvet’s scraps, pinning Brooke for herself to once again retain the championship.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

#1 – LAYLA

Last week: #2
Climing back up to the number one spot is the WWE Divas champion, Layla. The British-born Diva wasn’t in action this week but she did get tangled up in the ring with a certain Glamazon. After Beth Phoenix defeated Alicia Fox, she went on for a beat down. Superwoman Layla ran down to save the day and hit Beth with a sick spinning facebuster, sending her fleeing up the ramp and giving herself huge momentum going into tonight’s title match.

That concludes this weeks ‘Top 12′ rankings. Let me know if you agree or disagree with my choices by voting in the poll below, sounding off in comments or sending us a tweet at @OSDivalicious_.
