The Top 12: June 17th

After nearly a two year hiatus, The Top 12 (formally known as the Divalicious Dozen) has returned to OhSoDivalicious. If you aren’t familiar with ‘The Top 12′ then here’s the drift; it’s just like WWE.com’s ‘Power 25′ feature but ours is much smaller (and better). Ours counts down the top twelve women of wrestling each week. Let’s get on with it with our number twelve, shall we?

#12 – LAYLA
Last week: #10
The Divas champion Layla hasn’t done much the past few weeks to prove her dominance or worth for being the champion of the division. We saw her on commentary this past Friday on Smackdown as she watched her opponent for tonight, Beth Phoenix, literally squash the fiesty Alicia Fox. Does the champ have what it takes to keep hold of the butterfly belt tonight?!

#11 – PAIGE
Last week: #7
Paige’s plan failed! After manipulating FCW General Manager Summer Rae into giving her a match against Audrey Marie instead of her Anti-Diva buddy Sofia Cortez, Sofia turned on Paige during the match. It looked like Paige was about to win as she grabbed onto the ropes illegally, but Sofia walked past and whacked Paige’s hand off the ropes, causing her to fall back into a three count!

#10 – RAQUEL DIAZ
Last week: #N/A
FCW Divas champion Raquel Diaz enters the ‘Top 12′ this week after debuting a brand new, crazy look! Was it a wig? Who knows, but Raquel sure told the whole FCW Universe how fabulous she looked and that she’s the ULTRA-DIVA of FCW!

#9 – GAIL KIM
Last week: #6
Gail Kim lost her Knockouts championship this past Sunday at the Impact Wrestling pay-per-view. Then, on Impact after smart mouthing Knockouts Executive Brooke Hogan, Brooke told her she won’t be in the title match she’s booked for next weeks Impact and she doesn’t know when she will give Gail her championship rematch so as far as Brooke’s concerned, Gail’s on vacation. Oh snap!

#8 – SOFIA CORTEZ
Last week: #N/A
Tough Enough reject Sofia Cortez turned her back on her Anti-Diva tag team partner Paige this past Sunday on FCW, taking a stand and finally standing up for herself. Last week Paige screwed her out of facing Audrey this week, so when Paige was holding the ropes in the match, Cortez swiped them away, causing Paige to get rolled up.

#7 – BROOKE HOGAN
Last week: #11
The new Knockouts Executive had a fabulous idea she was bringing forward to Gail about a championship match – but Gail threw it back in her face and gave her cheek. Brooke, being in charge, schooled Gail on her contract before telling her she doesn’t know when she’ll next be on. Brooke walked off before telling Gail to have a nice vacation. Looks like Brooke knows best!!!

#6 – AUDREY MARIE
Last week: #N/A
FCW’s country girl Audrey made an impact this past Sunday at the FCW show when she defeated the British Diva Paige.

#5 – KAITLYN
Last week: #N/A
NXT regular Kaitlyn managed to defeat the former Divas champion Natalya this past week on the yellow branded show.

#4 – VICKIE GUERRERO
Last week: #N/A
Stand back, there’s a cougar comin’ through!! Vickie Guerrero definitely made her mark back in Diva land this past Friday night on Smackdown. Vickie excused AJ from her babbling, telling her that nobody is talking about her kissing Kane and everyone’s talking about Dolph. AJ insulted poor Vickie, so Vickie slapped the taste out of her mouth. Later on after Vickie’s team lost the tag match, Vickie and AJ had a catfight! Vickie got the better of it though when she kicked AJ into the side of the ring, allowing her to get a swift getaway! Excuse her, please.

#3 – BETH PHOENIX
Last week: #8
Beth Phoenix has knotched up two wins this week. First over Divas champ Layla on RAW in a mixed tag match and the second on Smackdown, when she hit the Glam Slam on Alicia Fox. Beth now has all the momentum needed going into her Divas championship bout with the champ Layla tonight at No Way Out.

#2 – AJ LEE
Last week: #2
Resident crazy chick AJ kicked off the week by snogging Kane and defeating him and Daniel Bryan in a tag team match. Then, moving onto Smackdown, she called Vickie ‘grandma’ and then had a catfight with her before being rammed into the side of the ring. Luckily, the big red monster Kane came out and carried AJ off into the fiery depths of hell, saving the day – until he got thumped.

#1 – BROOKE TESSMACHER
Last week: #1
Kicking off the week at Slammiversary, Brooke Tessmacher finally overcame the odds and defeated Gail Kim for the Knockouts title. Then on Impact, proving her dominance as a champion, Brooke defeated Madison Rayne with yet another impressive move! Don’t mess with Tess!!
That concludes this weeks ‘Top 12′ rankings. Let me know if you agree or disagree with my choices by voting in the poll below, sounding off in comments or sending us a tweet at @OSDivalicious_.
