The Top 12: July 29th

After nearly a two year hiatus, The Top 12 (formally known as the Divalicious Dozen) has returned to OhSoDivalicious. If you aren’t familiar with ‘The Top 12′ then here’s the drift; it’s just like WWE.com’s ‘Power 25′ feature but ours is much smaller (and better). Ours counts down the top twelve women of wrestling each week. Let’s get on with it with our number twelve, shall we?

#12 – LAYLA
Last week: #9
With RAW’s 1000th episode airing this past week, Divas champion Layla was only seen backstage with the bride-to-be (and Diva who brutally attacked her the other week – which made no sense, why would she be hanging with someone who smashed her face in?) AJ Lee. For not competing and not defending her Divas championship, Layla drops all the way down to number twelve.
Let The Games Begin! An Olympic-Sized Flashback!

It’s that time again….. it’s time for the Summer Olympic Games! It’s hard to believe that it’s already been 4 years since the Beijing Games. And it’s hard to believe that it’s been 4 years since WWE hosted their own Divas Olympics (in which Maria – bless her heart! – seemed to forget which season it was)! In celebration of the kick-off to the 2012 London games, OSD takes a trip down memory lane to revisit 2008′s Divas Olympics!

Velvet Sky Leaves TNA

After rumours circulated about Velvet Sky‘s state of employment within Impact Wrestling, the former champion took to her Twitter page only a few minutes ago to announce her departure from the company.
@VelVelHoller
I have been granted my release by TNA at this time. It’s what’s best for me right now and I wanted to thank TNA and all the fans for their constant support in me. Stay tuned though..
And I also want to thank Vince Russo for creating and believing in the team of The Beautiful People. We had a great run! @Actualalove
This has come to quite a shock to many considering Velvet’s push and run as Knockouts champion at the end of last year. We wish Velvet the best for the future and hope to see and hear from her very soon.
On a side note, the only ‘Beautiful People’ member still with the company, is the ‘Killa Queen’ Madison Rayne as Angelina Love announced her departure from the company earlier this month too.
Vickie Guerrero on General Manager AJ

This past Monday night on RAW, AJ Lee was announced as the new General Manager, leaving the ‘Queen Diva’ Vickie Guerrero feeling very, very annoyed… EXCUSE HER! Vickie Guerrero is a former General Manager of both RAW and Smackdown, as well as acting as the official consultant to Smackdown a while back. The Cougar herself took to her Twitter page to let the world know how she felt that AJ had been appointed General Manager and not her.
@ExcuseMeWWE
Feelings about @Aj? Her reign in office will be short lived…no experience, maturity, and support….she will learn she needs to grow up
So, again we ask the question; who would you rather be the General Manager of RAW?
The Bella Twins on WWE:
“We look forward to going back.”

In a recent interview with former WWE Divas The Bella Twins, the former champs commented on what they’d been upto since leaving WWE, what made them want to go to WWE and much more. But Brie also touched on returning to the big company. Here’s what she said:
After five years of making heads spin, you two hung up your metal folding chairs this spring. What have you been up to since parting ways with the WWE?
Brie: We’ve been keeping busy! In August you can see us on Ridiculousness on MTV, and in September we’ll be sharing some thoughts about Tim Tebow on the NFL Network. But honestly, the WWE is a huge family, and we look forward to going back.
Would you like to see the Bellas return? You can read the full interview and see their Maxim photoshoot, here.
It’s Official: Kharma’s Gone

Kharma, who took a maternity break last year from the WWE briefly returned for the 2012 Royal Rumble before dropping off the radar completely. Everyone had speculated Kharma’s release when she was moved to the Alumni page on WWE.com. Today though, the Diva has set the record straight, confirming her release on Twitter. In a reply to a fan who directly asked if she’d asked for her release, Kharma said:
@Kharma
yes, I was. It doesn’t mean I’ll never be back.
We wish Kharma well and hope to see her back in the WWE someday.
RAW 1001 Goes Royal
Last night marked RAW’s 1000th episode on television, but it left a lot to be desired Diva-wise. AJ stood Daniel Bryan up at the alter for a General Manager job, Lita defeated Heath Slater and Stephanie McMahon got physical on Paul Heyman but there was no current Diva storylines or matches that happened, and thus, this post was born. The Divas need a shake up! This time around I’m going to make up some different scenarios and such that I would like to see happen next week on RAW 1001 and then you guys get to vote for your favourite! It’s time for RAW 1001 to go ROYAL!
Cameron Lynn Funks Naomi Up

I legit visioned this one in my head. The Funkadactyls Naomi and Cameron are BFF’s and love their Funkasaurus Brodus Clay and they love to dance, but what happens when one of the dino Divas are off their game? From entrance to celebratory dance, I’d have Naomi off her dancing game, missing dance moves, dancing infront of Naomi, blocking her etc. Then when Brodus Clay defeats his opponent and the girls step into the ring to dance, Naomi would shimmy and bump into Cameron, sending her off her feet and to the mat. Cameron, super annoyed at Naomi all night, would get off her sparkly booty, spin Naomi round and slap her in the face. Naomi would shoot around and dive on Cameron, causing a CATFIGHT! Brodus would just stand on, all shocked as the pair of prehistoric dancers are pulled off of one another.
TNA Lost Their Love & Now Their Sky?
Word on the street is that Velvet Sky is on the verge of leaving TNA Wrestling. Apparently the former champ has been in talks with the company about extending her contract as it’s about to expire, but the negotiations have gone sour. Rumour has it that not just Sky, but a lot of the talent in TNA are being told to “take it or leave it”. This news comes just weeks behind Velvet’s former tag team partner Angelina Love announcing her depature from the company.
In other Knockout related news, ODB has signed a new deal with the company. She is currently one half of the TNA Knockouts Tag Team champions with on-screen husband Eric Young.
