What happens when you mix a fansite with a news site? OhSoDivalicious!
OhSoDivalicious.org is, quite simply, a fun source for WWE Divas, TNA Knockouts and a majority of other female wrestlers. We don’t claim to be the best women’s wrestling website, we’re a fun alternative. We see ourselves as a mixture of being a fansite and a news site, after all, we’re fans of a majority of the women that wrestle.
Our layouts tend to reflect the “fansite” image, while our content mixes it up a little bit. We’ll report news, results and rumours, but we’ll also add our own twist to things with fun posts about anything from ring attires to messing about with gimmicks. We also provide tips & tricks for designers out there as the founders are just as fond of designing as they are with reporting. If we find exclusive pictures – high quality shots, promotional shots or any other hidden treasures – we like to share them with other fansites, too. Why? To put it bluntly: Sharing is caring.
OhSoDivalicious is a hobby for the staff members and we’re beyond grateful for all of the positive feedback we’ve received over time. We get around 500 unique hits a day, with around 20 people just casually browsing around. It’s not as many as other sites may claim, but we’re very content with those numbers. We’ve had a number of interviews with a variety of women who’ve graced the wrestling world and have been acknowledged by many on Twitter.
Website History
Back in 2007, OhSoDivalicious.org started out as a Divas multimedia website, filled with everything from icons and signatures to wallpapers. Our original name was Divalicious- and we were hosted by Freewebs (With an alternative domain name: divalicious.uni.cc). The original website began to expand into more than just graphics, in terms of tutorials and general opinionated blogs by the sole owner back then, Trisha.
Around a year later, Shaibani, a friend of Trisha’s, offered to host her website on a subdomain of his. Gladly accepting the offer, Trisha made the phenom4life network “divalicious”. A new name marked the new era in 2008: OhSoDivalicious (We also had an alternate domain name: ohsodivalicious.co.cc). Trisha’s friendship with Shaibani would also later on help provide WordPress coding, which she is absolutely terrible at.
On the 4th of July 2008, Shaibani bought OSD’s domain: OhSoDivalicious.org. Later that year, Trisha decided to post more things to do with Divas (and Knockouts) in terms of news, updates and general blogs, as well as provide multimedia. Trisha then hired staff members to help provide said news, close friends Marc, Lisa, Marcella and Conor. Marc and Marcella, formerly of NarcusGFX and better known as “The Royals”, remain part of the OSD family, while our doors are always open to Lisa and Conor.
In May 2009, OhSoDivalicious officially converted to WordPress and soon after that we became affiliated with Kristen, who owns a Divas and Knockouts gallery. In 2010, OhSoEyeCandy became our official gallery and Kristen became a vivacious member of staff.
Since then, we’ve expanded to social networking websites such as Facebook and Twitter, which has allowed us to frequently contact women of wrestling or even just be acknowledged by them. We’ve been awarded a number of website awards, ranging from Best Blog to being recognised as a Site of the Month on other fansites. We appreciate every form of positive feedback from everyone!
