Funkasaurus – What the Funk?!
Written By: Trisha on January 14th, 2012 • Comments (0)

Monday Night Raw got funkified as super-athletic former NXT Rookie Naomi made her debut alongside the “divalicious” Cameron Lynn – aka Tough Enough’s Ariane Andrews, as dancers for another NXT Rookie, Brodus Clay. Yes, really.

While many fans of Superstars pondered over when Brodus would make his debut, I’m sure Diva fans didn’t care as much. I mean, let’s face it, we had a bigger question on our lips: When the heck would WWE debut Naomi? She was by far the most athletic “rookie” during NXT Season 3, yet we saw fellow rookies Maxine, Aksana and AJ debut on the main roster before her, despite her coming in second place overall. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of the three Divas selected, but I would have enjoyed seeing Naomi get the chance to break out into the WWE properly before them.

Isis The Amazon KOs Rumors
Written By: Marcella on February 18th, 2011 • Comments (0)

According to a report on Lordsofpain.net,  Pro Wrestling Torch had stated these rumors that one Isis the Amazon had a “bad attitude” so it was claimed that the TNA ladies locker room would refuse to work on a program with her if signed.

Isis fought back against these rumors. She made the following statements:

“Heat comes & goes. Even if I had it, why would I care? All that matters is that I give what I do 110% & have a positive attitude”

“I don’t ever pay attention to dirt sheets. They’re there b/c average people live average, boring lives & need a target like me for amusement & a cheap laugh. I’m not putting it over & I’m don’t talking about them, IE giving them credit. F*** ‘em.”

Isis also had the backing of one  current Knockout to dispel these rumors.  TNA Knockout  Tara (former WWE Diva Victoria) responded to a tweet of a fan about these rumors. She stated:

No she didn’t. Total sweetheart

Comments soon turned very ugly as sites and people slammed her wrestling ability and made comparisons between her and The Great Khali. According to Isis, Tommy Dreamer who works as a producer in TNA stated that she has a lot of potential. She then stated:

“People can say what they want. When a guy like Tommy Dreamer who had worked closely with the Great Khali comes up to you & tells you that you have mass amounts of potential, I’d focus on that as motivation over some stupid dirt sheet talking s***. My name is still coming out their mouths for a f****** reason- NEVER forget that. So long as I’m doing what I need to be doing, everyone else trying to bring me down can ‘suck it’.”

In my humble opinion, I think people should just lay off of the negativity. It’s okay to have an opinion and believe that someone does not wrestle ‘as good’ as someone else. However, making disparaging remarks is not the way to go.  Ruining people’s credibility and name is not the proper course of action.  Remember rumors may be true, but also they may not be. People have to take rumors about “heat” with a grain of salt.  It seems like everyone and their mother has had this said about them. It goes to show you that you cannot please everyone.   Regardless, it’s nice to see Tara sticking up for Isis The Amazon.   Good luck to Isis The Amazon in her endeavors.

Lance Storm Talks Divas & Dawn Marie

Lance Storm was recently asked some questions on his site – www.stormwrestling.com . It was rather interesting to see what he thinks about the Women’s Division today. He also spoke about Dawn Marie‘s wrestling and her valeting. Take a look!

Q: I know from the endorsement that Trish Stratus gave you for your SWA that you helped the women back in 2001-2003. Looking at how far women’s wrestling has fallen in WWE today, do you think you could, with a straight face, consistently help the current divas plan 1 minute and 40 second title matches?

A: I think the problem is bigger than just helping these girls plan matches. I think in many cases (certainly not all) the current women’s roster is not as talented and the office is booking them a lot less credibly, so just helping them put better matches together is not the problem, and if it were Fit Finlay is still with the company, he can do every bit as good of a job as I can at it and quite probably far better.

Q: Did Dawn Marie ever give you personality/promo tips when you were paired together and vice versa? Would she have been a viable wrestler? I don’t recall her in too many matches, outside of the ‘catfights’.

A: She did not attempt to give me promo tips at any point. As for her as a viable wrestler I guess it depends on the time frame; by today’s standards certainly but during the Trish Stratus era probably not. Dawn was best as a valet; she was AWESOME on so many levels. That was her calling in this business and she was often underutilized in that role

In my opinion, Dawn Marie was a good wrestler. I agree with Lance that she was underutilized as a valet/manager, but also as a wrestler. Even back then during what he dubbed as the Trish Stratus era, she was a veteran. She pulled out decent matches with girls with limited abilities. You can look back at her matches with Torrie Wilson, Jackie Gayda, and Michelle McCool. These girls were as wrestlers say very “green‘. They were rookies. To be able to get into the ring and work with them and furthermore, push them as workers took  a lot of effort from Dawn.  She wasn’t considered a female wrestler.

To go off into the wild blue yonder with the WWE  Women’s Division is another story. The women today are a different breed of lady wrestlers.  Very few come from the independent scene.  Most of them are WWE grown. The problem may lay within that. However, you have cases of MICHELLE MCCOOL who is a very good wrestler. She came out of the productions of WWE developmentals. I think the issues deal with time constraints and  monetary issues rather than wrestling talent. I think the time frame of matches really hurts all the girls.  In very short matches, you tend to have to hurry through the moves and botches are more evident. Longer matches, some botches are forgotten as the competitors bounce back.

What do you guys think?

Santamina?

If you watched Monday Night RAW last night (or checked out RAW IS MARCELLA) then you’d of noticed that the second generation Diva, Tamina, was involved in a funny skit with Santino Marella after the Divas tag match. Check out what a fan who was in attendance at RAW had to say.

There was some speculation after RAW last night that Tamina had left The Usos since she seemed to start an angle with Santino Marella. A fan in attendance says that Tamina was with Jimmy and Jey as they took on Yoshi Tatsu and Goldust at the Superstars tapings. ((credit))

I hope the Tamina / Santino angle was just for comedy purposes, I seriously hope it doesn’t lead into another ‘Glamarella’ alliance, as I wasn’t a fan of that at all!

Alissa Flash Saga Continues
Written By: Marcella on July 27th, 2010 • Comments (0)

The Alissa Flash saga continues in RCW.  Alissa Flash was screwed out of the RCW Heavyweight Title by Joey Spector.  Well, the big boss man of RCW has seen enough with his Co-Commissioners.  He has made the match against Alissa Flash and Joey Spector AUGUST 7th! It’s going to be a 12 minute time limit with No DQ and falls count anywhere. If Alissa loses, she’s Spector’s slave. She must win the title before November, or it’s BYEBYEBYE from RCW.  We wish Alissa Flash the best of luck in this Battle of the Sexes. We all know she’s going to mop the floor with Joey Spector. Check out the video!

Eve Torres vs. The Fink
Written By: Marc on July 20th, 2010 • Comments (3)

RAW last night saw Eve Torres become the new number one contender for the Divas title (again) after she defeated Maryse. In a WWE Universe chat session, The Fink kicked up a fuss, when he said the following two statements:

I have had it with the Raw Diva division.

I DO NOT hate Divas…..I am not a fan of who is the # 1 contender

He could just mean that he’s not a fan of Eve being number one contender again, or, he’s not a fan of Eve Torres all together! We’ll leave it upto you to decide, unless Fink sets the record straight.

Personally, I think WWE are completely rinsing out using Eve as the number one contender. There’s more things you can do with a feud than keep having one Diva as number one contender. They could easily put Brie, Nikki, Gail Kim or Natalya (who are all face Divas) up against Fox.

TNA: Classless and disgusting
Written By: Marc on June 14th, 2010 • Comments (5)

I didn’t get to see the Knockouts title match last night, but I caught it just a minute ago, but that wasn’t before I read all the reports on the match and the shocking backstage news behind it all.

It wasn’t even a month ago (May 20th to be exact) that Roxxi returned to TNA after an injury in December of 2009. It looked like Roxxi was returning as the new babyface of the Knockouts division, someone to finally (try to) put an end to the Beautiful People’s reign of bitchiness over TNA, however, this isn’t what TNA management had in mind. I can only describe what you’re about to read as utterly classless and disgusting. Dave Meltzer reported the following last night:

I had heard earlier that there was a ton of backstage heat over a last minute angle change that involved Roxxi, so apparently she showed up and found out she was done with the company. Roxxi was in tears when it was over, but they cut away so fast to show a video for the next match that it didn’t really mean anything on the show.

But it doesn’t end there, Wrestling-Radio reported this:

The word is that Roxxi had been working on a nightly deal with the company, and the only reason she was brought back was to “fill the void” after the departure of Tara and after both Angelina Love and Daffney were forced out thanks to injuries. Now that Daffney and Angelina are set to return, it could be that the creative department within TNA didn’t have anything planned for Roxxi following last night’s pay-per-view.

I am totally gobsmacked and I think it’s really disgusting behaviour on the part of TNA. If you haven’t seen the match, then you’re lucky. To kick it off, Madison cuts a promo and get’s quite a lot of heat – she’s improved a ton on the mic! But she makes Roxxi agree to put her career on the line before smacking her in the head with the mic and busting Roxxi open. Roxxi basically wrestles the entire match like this before being pinned and kicked out of TNA.

I really don’t know what else to say. I was never a huge fan of Roxxi but I totally respect her. She’s sacrificed so much for TNA, only to be treated like absolute shit time after time. I really feel for her. What do you guys think about this?

Yeah, Roses Really Smell Like Boo-Boo-Ooh!
Written By: Trisha on June 4th, 2010 • Comments (5)

I know that many people have probably made their first assumptions of the newest Knockout Rosey Lottalove just by the news that she’d be signed by TNA Wrestling. I’ve waited until I’ve seen her debut match and her getting two photo shoots is a nice surprise too, usually we wait a good while until new faces get their spotlight session with Lee South. Click on the banner to go to our gallery and check out both sessions – She’s quite playful in front of the camera, and as seen on iMPACT! this week, she’s certainly not shy to show off!

Many assumed that because she’s a big girl that she’d be replacing Awesome Kong as the dominating Knockout, but it’s obvious that her role is more playful and the commentators don’t seem to be taking her as seriously. I’ll give Rosey credit where it’s due, despite her incredibly cheesy ring name (Seriously, “Lottalove”?! Slow, sarcastic claps to whoever came up with that one…) she’s clearly proud to be a large lady and she knows how to show off her ample assets in lingerie-esque ring attire. If it was a member of The Beautiful People, there’d be wolf-whistles all round and she makes her point in the promo after the match. I’ll admit, during the match, I was thinking that she doesn’t seem too strong in the ring – Let me stress that this is my first impression – but the promo afterwards made me fall in love with this lady, in an admiring an idol sort-of-way.

“The Beautiful People think they can come out here and take us out – ‘Every ugly person at a time’ – No, no, no. Rosey Lottalove, she’s big, she’s bad and she’s certainly beautiful. Yeahh! Oh, nonononono, and I will take every single one of you Beautiful People out, together! ‘Coz I’m a whole lot of Rosie!

Although she sports over-the-top make-up that makes her look like a clown, I like Rosey. There’s lots to love and I love each and every bit of her. I’m looking forward to what she has in store for the Beauties and the rest of the Knockouts Division. Rosey’s getting alot of love from me, but what do you think? Sound off in the comments!
