Okay, so firstly i’d like to apologize for the lack of me posting lately, school is really busy and i have deadlines to meet left, right and center! But since both Trisha and I are MV (Music Video) makers, i thought it would be a nice idea to have a weekly MV blog (don’t worry i already passed it by the HBIC).
So, this whole new OSD weekly will be posted on Sundays (most of the time) and will feature Music Videos created by WWE Diva and TNA Knockout fans on YouTube.
I’d like to start the MV Highlights with this MV made by the returning MV maker Ashley. I chose this Vid because it shows off the Bella Twins really well in my opinion, as WWE don’t put them across as well as they could i think Ashley did a really nice job on this!
This is another favorite of mine that has been recently uploaded, four year MV veteran Alexx did a really nice job on this. Torrie is an all-time favorite of mine and her SmackDown career was shown brilliantly here, simple and beautiful editing.
I’d also like to make a note of three year MV veteran Johnny’s brand spankin’ new Amy Dumas (Lita) MV. I think he did a nice job on the editing and it all syncs very nicely, i also think it summarizes her career but also shows it very well.
Finally, i’d like to include a Mickie MV which was posted today, It was created by fast improving upcomer Gijs.
If you’re not one to watch videos, here’s a quick fun summary of what happened backstage on Smackdown last night through a returning Comic Conclusion! Sadly, there was no in-ring action…
Already this year we’ve seen the release of top Diva babyface Maria, the original TNA Knockout Traci Brooks, mega-talented Alissa Flash, THE Awesome Kong and the apparant release of FCW Diva Penny Cash! The Knockouts division is dieing quicker than a fish out of water and rumour has it that WWE is on another one of their releasing sprees, so not every Diva is going to be safe.
This post is my opinion on who is safe, who isn’t so safe and who’s inbetween; so don’t think it’s some report from the offices of TNA and WWE. The list will go down in order of WWE Divas, FCW Divas and then TNA Knockouts. I’m gonna start off with the Divas and Knockouts who I think are unsafe from the releasing spree; the ones who are most likely to be saying byebyebye to their lovely contracts!
Katie Lea: There’s been so many rumours circulating the net that Katie Lea’s future in WWE is bleak and after the shock release of her on-screen brother Paul Burchill, many fans put Katie Lea next in the firing line, literally.
Savannah: Savannah was the first Queen of FCW and was the top Diva in the developmental territory. She was called upto ECW as a replacement for Courtney Taylor and eventually became the ring announcer. Other than that, the poor girl does nothing and I’m sorry to say but she brings NOTHING to announcing.
The Bella Twins: These two had a great feud last year and worked at their best when they were against each other, but since then, they’ve become BFF again and whored around with every guest host possible. There’s nothing more for the girls to do, really.
Hamada: Bless, International superstar Hamada wasted her time by sorting out her visa to play with the Knockouts as bless, she will be gone pretty soon. I reckon TNA would see no use for her, as her tag team partner (AND FELLOW KNOCKOUT TAG TEAM CHAMPION) is gone from TNA.
ODB: Character is stale and boring. Byebyebye. =/
Sarita & Taylor Wilde: This amazing tag team of great performers will be gone pretty soon from TNA I think. With The Beautiful People, Daffney, Angelina Love and Tara taking center stage in the Knockouts division and with there only being one VERY SHORT Knockouts match (or segment) per show now, I don’t think there’s any room for these two anymore.
It’s kind of obvious that WWE aren’t going to be dropping RAW’s guest host act anytime soon, so another OhSoDivalicious / Royal Hollering Exclusive post has been made! In this post, I’ll analyse a few women, some may be related to wrestling, some may not be, and see what they could possibly bring to the table if they were chose to host the freakshowMonday Night RAW!
RAW IS EXTREME
Amy Dumas, the frontwoman of punk rock band The Luchagors. Amy Dumas, better known as Lita, the former four time WWE Women’s champion! During her time in WWE, Lita was known for revolutionizing women’s wrestling, high flying moves and being the only extreme Diva in the WWE; which lead her to be named the ‘Queen Of Extreme’. Being a former Women’s champion and knowing her way around harmful objects, Lita could bring extreme matches back to RAW for one night only. Hardcore matches, ladder matches, cage matches, OH MY! Lita’s been there and done them all! She’s battled a broken neck, a torn ACL and millions of horrible people shouting abuse at her each and every night, so with that experience behind her, the toughie Lita would be ready to face the outspoken, rowdy RAW lockerroom and most definately NOT take any crap from them.
WWE.com posted a fun user-friendly ‘Love Connection’ game, where you click on a Superstar and link them to a Diva to see the pro’s, cons and final verdict of their relationship outcome. So, welcome to OSD’s version which features three Diva pairings, and two Knockout pairings!
Jillian Hall & John Cena
Pros:
- John Cena is always picking up wins in his matches, and let’s face it, Jillian Hall could really do with some wins up her belt, I mean she’s won ONE singles match since November 2007, and that moment only lasted for five minutes!
- They’re both into music! Whether it’s Eminem or Miley Cyrus, I’m sure they can come to some sort of agreement.
Cons:
- Cena thinks he can rap, Jillian thinks she can sing. Once one tells the other that they can’t, all hell is bound to break loose.
- Jillian is very naughty when she steps into the ring, whereas Cena sticks to the rules. Jillian might turn Cena into a baddie, which his loyal fans would not like!
Verdict: Even though the pair are musically influenced and extra talented in the ring, this relationship would seriously fail big time. Jillian’s ego and bad singing would soon irk John Cena.
Welcome to the final part of our third annual end of year awards for 2009. To view the other section of the awards, click part one below for the viewers choices and part two for exclusive awards picked by the staff! PART ONE | PART TWO
This final part of the awards is for the top draws in each company and overall; the WWE Diva, TNA Knockout, Champion and overall Woman of the year, chosen by you, the OSD viewers.
In 2009 there was a combined FIFTEEN reigns between the Divas, Knockouts, Women’s and Knockouts Tag titles, but the champion our viewers loved the most was the third WWE Diva to hold the Women’s AND the Divas title…
————————————————————————————————————————————————————
So, in 2009 we saw several Knockout debut and several depart the company, but each lady made an impact in the self-proclaimed best women’s division in the world. But, the following Knockout captured our viewers eyes and hearts as they voted her TNA Knockout of 2009!
————————————————————————————————————————————————————
2009 was a great year for the WWE Divas. Despite short matches on TV, the Divas used the most of their time to prove why they are equal, if not better, than their Knockout counterparts. The winner of this award came into 2009 a champion and proved to be the one of the most dominant Divas of ‘09.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————
TNA Knockouts, WWE Divas and women of wrestling in general all applied for this award and a familar face who has already snatched up a few awards, obviously made the biggest impact of 2009 and that is why she, is your woman of 2009!
————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Myself, Marcella and Trisha all want to say a big thank you to EVERYONE who voted and a big thank you to the women of wrestling!
WWE Diva Maria Kanellis is soon to be gracing us with her gorgeous vocals in her upcoming new album Sevin Sins, which has inspired this little fun post! Would you believe that there’s a WWE Diva for each of the Seven Sins? Of course there is! Read on to find out which of the lovely ladies are guilty of one of the Seven Deadly Sins in this OhSoDivalicious Exclusive ‘Seven Deadly Divas’. Let’s start with the Diva in question…
LUST; Maria Kanellis
“She’s bubbly, she’s beautiful and she’s an object of desire for many men. She’s Maria, and she’s darn proud to call herself a WWE Diva. While many may think she’s ditzy or absent-minded, there’s one thing that’s well-known: she’s hot.” … This lady’s profile says it all, really. Maria is a beautiful Diva, there’s no question about it. After being featured in several smokin’ hot WWE Magazine photoshoots and then moving onto the Big Daddy of them all: Playboy, it’s safe to say that when people think of a sexy Diva to lust after, Maria is the biggest sinner of them all.
VANITY; Maryse Ouellet
Elle est le belle de la WWE. She’s the belle/beauty of World Wrestling Entertainment, and she knows it. Maryse is proud to proclaim that she’s the sexiest of the sexy, whenever she gets her perfectly manicured hands on a microphone. Maryse makes sure she never looks rough, in fact even if she botches does things in a dodgy way, she’ll style it out! As Jerry Lawler once said, Maryse has never ever met a mirror she didn’t like…
I know reading the title and seeing the picture you’re probably thinking “HELL NO” but take a minute to see why I think that the Divas tag titles could be better than two singles titles for the Divas.
At the end of August, TNA announced that they would be introducing tag team titles for the Knockouts. Most people jumped for joy, but I was confused as really, The Beautiful People and Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed were the only tag teams. But, TNA went ahead and paired random Knockouts together and eventually on the 20th of September 2009, Taylor Wilde and Sarita won the Knockouts tag team titles.
WWE are known for booking random Divas tag matches together, which really have no meaning whatsoever. So, why not give those ‘filler Diva tag matches’ some meaning, by introducing the Divas tag team titles. As seen on Superstars last night (read my review/coverage!), The Bella Twins defeated Jillian Hall and Katie Lea in what was the most exciting Divas tag match in a very long time. Already in the WWE, there are a few Diva tag teams in The Bella Twins, Jillian Hall & Katie Lea, Layla & Michelle McCool and Gail Kim & Kelly Kelly. And well, let’s face it, it wouldn’t be hard to pair a the other Divas up together: Beth Phoenix & Natalya, Maria & Mickie James, Eve & Melina and Alicia Fox & Maryse.
The Divas are constantly in tag team matches or used in the wrong ways. At least by introducing a Divas tag title, it could give opportunities for new tag teams to form and for Divas that aren’t used properly to make a name for themselves as a respected tag team in the WWE.
What do you think? Do you love or loathe the idea? Let me know!
Shirlz Speaks On…Why Gail Should Be Divas Champion
My first blog of 2010! Hope you all had a good New Year and whatnot, but now it’s time to turn my attention to the topic I plan on talking about. You all probably know I’m at the withdrawal stage of losing Melina for 6 months due to ACL injury (she’s having surgery in the next couple of weeks, so get well!), so now I can take a look at others in the RAW Divas Division because of the Championship Tournament. A blog is supposed to be biased, not neutral, so instead of evaluating all 4 semi-finalists and giving an “informed judgement”, I’m going to state very clearly why I think Gail Kim should win the tourney and become Divas Champion.
I’ve been following Gail since her career started in WWE. I’ve seen her go to the very top of WWE, and I’ve seen her hit rock bottom by getting released over a year later. I’ve seen Gail rock the TNA Knockouts Division, and I’ve fully supported her with her decision to leave the company that made her a name to be reckoned with. Hell, I’ve even been able to conduct an interview with her on GailKimSource.Com. But the main problem is that she’s being held back from making wrestling history- if she did win the tourney, she’d be the ONLY woman in mainstream wrestling (thats WWE & TNA) to win all 3 main women’s championships. Gail has been trying since returning to WWE to reach this amazing accomplishment, and has lost on numerous occassions to the likes of Maryse & Mickie James. I think it’s about high time that Gail grabbed the brass ring and show the WWE Universe what she’s made of.
I’ve been very vocal for the past year about WWE’s treatment of Gail- if she was given the opportunity to do just SOME of the things she did in TNA, people wouldn’t be starting up rumours about her “inevitable” release. Gail is arguably the best Diva in terms of athletic ability, and her in-ring wrestling is slick regardless of what company she works for. I can tell you that Gail went back to WWE because the big boys in creative wanted her back due to the massive improvement she made whilst in TNA. It wasn’t down to Gail begging for a job with them- she could’ve easily said no to WWE- it was WWE creative who wanted her back, and she went. It just seems a tad off that WWE hasn’t utilised her properly, so winning the Divas Title come the Royal Rumble (what…it’s too obvious!) would be their way of telling us fans that the wait is worth it. And if we’re lucky, Gail can have her own WM moment.
OhSoDivalicious End Of Year Awards 2009: The Results Part 2
Welcome to part two of our OhSoDivalicious End Of Year Awards!
If you have yet to see part one, you can do so by clicking here.
This time it’s the staff choices for a number of different categories to what our visitors voted for, so let’s cut the chit-chat and get on with the awards!
Most Memorable Entrance
When entering the arena, entrance music just doesn’t cut it anymore – A Diva or Knockout needs to grab the audience’s attention, whether they’re at home or in attendance at the live show. Any Diva or Knockout who does something a little more interesting with their entrance is legible for this award. And the winner is…The Beautiful People (w/Angelina Love)
Because sometimes, enough is enough when it comes to expressing your opinion… The winner of this award took ‘enough’ to a whole new level, making us and everyone around us scream “SHUT THE F*CK UP!” And the winner is…Sunny
