It’s that time of the week again gals and pals, Let’s get StarStruck!
So this week we have a divas tag team match, which features the hellcat Melina and the French-Canadian diva, Maryse taking on the Asian sensation Gail Kim and “the lovely, gorgeous, beautiful” (thanks Josh Matthews), Eve Torres.
The heels are out first in matching black and grey attires, I will let the re-uses slide because they are matching! They both do their usual entrances while Josh Matthews comments on Maryse’s tweets, fantastic commentary as always! Eve’s music hits and the faces walk out, kinda matching with the gold, but not really. Eve is wearing that hot mess of an attire, hot because it would be hot if it didn’t have that MESS of a bronze part in the middle! Whilst her partner, Gail is wearing a brand new gold attire, nice! Read more after the cut! Continue Reading… »
YAY, For the first time in weeks I have a write-up to produce! Are you ready to get Starstruck?! Well groove, slam and work it back because here we go!
So this week we get a nice singles match between the hellcat Melina and the Asian sensation (no, not Lena Yada)Gail Kim! It was a bit shorter than the length of the usual divas match on Superstars, but to be quite honest, I was just happy to be seeing these rarely seen divas in action!
So Melina is out first in a new and unusual attire, which was catsuit type gear and it was mostly black with a grey part on the front, it was kinda nice but kinda weird too! Wow, these fans are silly, cheering like that for a heel. Gail is out next being more kid-friendly than usual with pig tails and bouncing everywhere, I do love her to bits though. Gail is wearing a sky blue attire that she has previously worn, boo for re-use but she looks so good! Continue Reading… »
I’m back again for my weekly Superstars coverage here on OSD! (sorry i’m a bit late this week, had quite a lot on my mind).
So this week we have another Raw divas match (even though last week’s match was Raw Vs Smackdown, it’s been a while since we had a Smackdown-only divas match on Superstars), and it is none other than the newly returned to Raw “The Glamazon”, Beth Phoenix taking on the feisty black and blue haired Latina, Melina!
Melina is out first in yet another re-use of an attire, but then again she is practically famous for re-using attires! She struts to the ring with a nice smirk on her face, she puts her hand up at the crowd and does her usual split entrance and randomly gets cheered by the crowd when she goes to the top rope. Beth is out next to cheers obviously, she is in a brand new attire which has sexy flames on it, as she walks down the ramp she points at Melina, who pulls a “bitchwtf” face and then begins to talk trash to the ref, even when Beth is doing her signature, back flip thingy out of the corner Melina is still talking trash.
Welcome to this week’s edition of Starstruck! As usual we see the pointless intro, which seems to be edited with newer clips? We see glimpses of Maryse, Eve, Michelle, Gail, Melina, Kelly, Beth and Layla – WHY isn’t Nattie in this intro?! She competes on Superstars more than other divas!
We see a graphic advertising the divas tag team match – most of the pictures are old, Melina’s is back from 2007? Well from around there! Alicia’s is the only current one.
Melina and Alicia are out first to Melina’s music, they appear to be along the same lines with the colours they are wearing, Alicia’s hair is all big and affro ish! (Oh how I missed that look xD). They do their usual entrance and then pose on the ropes as we go to commercial break. We come back from the break to see them still in the ring. Natalya‘s music then hits and both Gail and Nattie come out together. Gail appears to be wearing a brand spankin’ new white and red attire – it’s hot! Nattie is reusing, how creative of her. Melina and Alicia talk trash, Gail and Alicia then get out of the ring as the bell rings, Melina and Nattie will start.
Ahhh, look who is back here on OSD! And I’m taking over from the royal, Marc, with the Superstars coverage (wish me luck – I’ll need it).
So of course Superstars begins with the flashy yet pointless intro filled with 20% people who actually compete on the show and 80% people who have never even competed on the show.
We see Maryse walking backstage in a lovely new attire, she isn’t outfit repeating for once, YAY! We then see a Tough Enough promo and we see clips of Ivelisse botching and Rima crying, bless them.
At about 20 minutes into the show the divas match comes on and it is the deul of two Canadian belles, Maryse and Natalya! Maryse is out first, we see all of her attire (instead of just the top that we saw in the backstage clip) and it is a lovely silver and white attire, it’s great to see the return of her in brighter colours! Natalya is out next and she also appears to be in a new attire, well at least a new jacket! Maryse talks trash and Natalya acts like… well… Natalya. Continue Reading… »
Groove, slam, work it back, it’s time to get so starstruck one again
Forgive me for not covering Superstars for a while, I simply did not have the time while working two jobs and going to graduate school full time. I’m on a week and half long break, so I decided to get starstruck once again.
Yesterday night’s match pitted an injury duo -LAYCOOL against their bitter rivals The Glamazon Beth Phoenix and Kelly Kelly. I have to say, it’s nice to see Bethy back. Now I also have to say, WTF as this match is over ten minutes long. Did WWE find a brain? I wonder if this will translate into the divas getting a nice spot on the shows in 2011. Time will only tell.
Anyways, Beth Phoenix picks up a devastating win for her team as she glamslams poor Layla into putty. I have to say that this match was definitely a good one. I liked the intensity of all the ladies involved. I loved the antics of Laycool. Superstars is definitely the breeding ground for some of the best diva match ups. Check out the match below! Sound off in comments with your thoughts!
Groove, slam, work it back, it’s time to get so STARSTRUCK! Notice something different about this Starstruck post? Well that’s because myself and Marcella have come to a new arrangement! Whenever there’s a match on Superstars that involves the Divas of RAW, she will cover it, and when the Smackdown Divas compete, I will cover it, so this is our first Smackdown, Smacked Down Gets Starstruck post! This week on the blue brand side of things, we saw Layla with Michelle McCool take on the always bubbly Kelly Kelly with Natalya.
HOLLA HOLLA HOLLA – It’s Kelly Kelly! The blonde Diva is being accompanied to the ring by her new found BFF and number one contender to the Unified Divas championship, Natalya! You’re not enough for them – it’s the co-champs, Layla and Michelle McCool who make their way out next. The bell rings and the match begins…
NOT!
Layla begins to stretch and do some warm ups before jumping at Kelly, screaming. She backs up and starts dancing like a weirdo. She does it again but Kelly slaps the taste out of her mouth with a vicious slap! They grab each others hair and brawl around the ring. Layla pushes her off and goes for a kick, but K2 reverses and hits an atomic drop for a two count. Layla gets up and runs right into a kick from Kelly. Layla crawls over to the ropes where Kelly stomps all over her.
Layla reverses an Irish whip into the corner, but Kelly jumps off and goes for a crossbody, but like her rookie on Tuesday night, she MISSED IT! Layla gets a two count… twice! Layla hits a snapmare on Kelly before kicking her in the chest. The last Women’s champion in WWE history locks in a body scissors hold on Kelly. K2 tries to get her off by pulling her hair, but the ref count stops her. Layla rolls back for a two count. She rolls back up keeping the hold in place.
She goes for another, but this time she isn’t quite as lucky! From the hold, Kelly rolls Layla up but is unsuccessful at a pin. Layla gets straight up and knocks her down with a dropkick to the side of her head. Lay grabs Kelly’s hair but is kicked in the head! K2 then slams her head off the mat.
She gets up and hits her with a couple of clotheslines, throws her off but Layla hits her acrobatic pin move. We get a shot of Natalya, so we miss how the tables turn again. Kelly hits a sitout facebuster to Layla for a near three count. Layla’s back in control. She goes to lock in the sharpshooter, looking at Nattie, stroking her imaginary facial hair. Kelly small packages her though. Layla leaves the ring and hits a hotshot on Kelly but with the refs back turned, Natalya swings at Layla’s legs, dropping her to the apron. Kelly then rolls Layla up for the win!
Groove, slam, work it back, it’s time to get so STARSTRUCK again! Due to Marcella being a wubber and covering NXT last week for me, I decided to do her a favour and cover Superstars this week. This week on Superstars, Jillian Hall and Alicia Fox teamed up to take on Brie and Nikki Bella in Divas tag team action!
Alicia Fox and Jillian Hall, who are accompanied by Alicia’s NXT rookie Diva, Maxine, make their way to the ring! Jillian says the rumours of her having lanringitus are completely untrue. The fans then have to listen to a beautiful rendition of “Love The Way You Lie” by Rihanna and Eminem. Alicia starts swaying and tries to get Maxine to join along, but Maxine’s having none of it! Jillian gets cut off by the Bella Twins music. They then enter with their rookie, Jamie Keyes.
The bell rings. Brie and Alicia start it off. They tie up and Alicia throws her off. Brie then hits her with a standing monkey flip, followed by some elbows. Alicia smacks her back with her elbow but Brie throws her into the corner. She tags in Nikki and they hit a rolling knee bar (that rolling sitting down leg double team move thing). Cover! Two count! Groove, slam, work it back, it’s time to get so starstruck one again. It’s going to be two weeks of divalicious managing!
Let’s start off with this week’s action!
JTG faces off with Primo, who has his NXT Rookie Diva, AJ, in his corner. Yup, AJ doesn’t do anything but cheer on her pro as he wins his match.
Now it’s time for the main event. William Regal will go one on one with Goldust who is accompanied by his NXT Rookie Diva, Aksana! During the match, Regal stalks the Billion Dollar Baby, which earned him clubbing blows from the Golden One. Goldust hits the Final Cut for the win. He celebrates with Aksana as the show ends.
Groove, slam, work it back, it’s time to get so starstruck one again. As you can tell, Marc’s beloved Starstruck has been taken over by me (Marcella!!) MWAHAHAHAHA I had to trade THE NXT BEST COVERAGE due to me working two jobs and going to graduate school full time. So it was in everyone and their mother’s best interest to do this hot trade. Without any further ado, let’s get Starstruck with this mixed tag match between Goldust & GAIL KIM w/ Aksana vs. Primo & JILLIAN w/ AJ.
Before we get to the match, Goldust with his tag partner Gail Kim and his NXT Rookie, The Lithuanian Baby, Aksana . The Billion Dollar Baby is very excited as she throws her hands around. Oopsy, commercial break now.
The Golden Team and former champion Gail come out to a Shattered Dream Production. Let’s just say I had a flashback of when Goldust would tie the people up on the corner and then kick at their *ahem* lower regions. Then, Primo’s tune hits as an angry Jillian comes out along with Primo and his NXT rookie AJ. I still find this so odd that Primo and Jillian are heels and AJ is a face. Well furthermore, Primo was acting like a face during NXT.
The gentlemen start out the match with a lock up. Goldust works on the arm of Primo, but Primo fights out of it with a knee and a punch. Primo whips The Golden One across the ring only to get butt bump almost in the head. Goldust then slingshots Primo into the ropes and WHAMS him into his knees.
Goldust tags in Gail, so it’s the first time in this match that the ladies are legal. Gail climbs the ropes ready to do something to Primo, but he scurries away like a mouse. Jillian stomps in ready to take charge of this situation. Gail ducks a clothesline. Gail then hammers away to Jilly with a forearm and a kick to the hamstring. Gail whips the Jilliantonic singer into the corner and hits her running shoulder block flinging move. As Gail is on the apron outside of the ring, Jillian punches Gail. Jillian goes for a shoulder block but Gail jumps up and back down into the midsection of the Tone Deaf Diva. Jillian flies back into the ring as Gail climbs top turnbuckle. Primo makes the save and pulls Jillian out of the way. However, Carlito’s little brother gets hit with a missile dropkick right in his facial hair. Aksana is doing a YAYA dance as she claps.
Jillian is able to recover and kick Gail in the midsection for revenge. Primo and Jillian talk and are about to double team Gail Kim. Goldust pulls Primo out of the ring. Jillian is a bit distracted by that. Gail hits a clothesline and goes for a cover. The referee is distracted by the males fighting on the outside. Gail picks up Jilly and hits a forearm. Gail runs to the ropes at the same time that Primo pulls at the ropes; therefore, Gail takes a spill to the outside. Primo does an “OOPSIE” face. Jilly goes to the outside and throw Gail back into the ring. Jillian gets a near fall. She screeches “C’MONNNNN!!!“ Jilly smacks Gail and then stands on her hair. Jillian counts with the referee. Jilly kicks Gail in the head. Jillian whips Gail into the corner. Jillian runs towards Gail and Gail wraps her legs on Jilly’s shoulders. Jillian turns around and hits her version of the Alabama Slam! Jillian goes for pin and it’s another near fall. Jillian then places her knee in the back of Gail’s head while pulling Gail’s hair. Aksana jumps around to get the crowd into it. Gail elbows Jilly’s knees as she powers out of the move. Gail hits a forearm into Jilly’s stomach and Jilly returns it with a punch in the face. Jillian has Gail by the hair and is taking too much time. She sets up for a powerbomb. Gail counters with a series of punches and then hits a *BOTCHED* hurricana into the ropes.
The ladies tag out to the gentlemen once again. Goldust ducks a clothesline and delivers two of his own. Goldust whips Primo into the ropes but gets whipped himself into the ropes. Primo bends down and WHAM he gets a *VINTAGE* uppercut. Oopsy, Goldust hits an atomic drop. Goldy hits a weird bulldog/Melina hair toss move. The Golden One gets a near fall on Primo. Goldy hits a powerslam and goes for a cover. Jilly makes the save by kicking Goldy in the back. Goldy and Jilly face each other and he rubs himself. Jilly has had enough of the Bizarre One’s antics so she SLAPS him. Goldust clicks his mouth at Jillian which frightens her. She walks right into Gail’s Eat Defeat. Aksana is so happy that she is having a party on the outside, while AJ is pleading for her Pro’s team to get back into the match. Well, Goldust hits the Final Cut on Primo for the victory. The victorious team celebrates in the ring! Aksana is so proud of her Pro, which makes Jerry “The King” Lawler very jealous as he needs another ninety wives.
