This past Friday, WWE Smackdown Diva Rosa Mendes was involved in a multi-car wreck in Las Vegas. Mendes was a passenger in her friend’s Hummer, stopped at a light when they were hit from behind by another car that was also hit, moving at high speeds. Rosa was rushed to hospital but released a few hours later. She told WWE.com this:
“My neck and back were really hurting, my body is my job. I was so scared that I was not going to be able to wrestle. I was in a lot of pain. Nothing’s broken, I feel like I can wrestle but the whole right side of my neck and back have a burning sensation.”
WWE were on hand to take some photos, so for photos of the crash, click here for WWE.com’s exclusive snaps.
Later on Saturday night, Rosa Mendes tweeted the following, thanking fans for their support during this tough time:
@LaRosaMendes: Just want to thank everyone for their texts, messages, and phone calls. Its nice knowing I have people that care me.
We wish Rosa the best and most speediest recovery. Hopefully she’ll be cranking up the crazy in the tag team and Divas division very soon!

Unfortunately Marcella recently had to undergo surgery on her hand and I’d like to take this time to say thank you on her behalf for all your kind and well words for her in the cbox, Twitter and everywhere else you spammed us about it – she really does appreciate all the love!
Last night on RAW, Nikki Bella picked up a huge win and pinned Beth Phoenix to become the new WWE Divas champion, ending Beth’s six month reign as Divas champion. Before the match even began, Eve Torres came out to announce not only that she was the new Executive Administrator to John Lauriantis, but to also make this match a lumberjill match – as according to Eve, there are too many Divas that sit around doing nothing. Relive the action below and see Nikki celebrate her title win backstage with her sister Brie in a WWE.com exclusive.
During the title match on RAW, Beth Phoenix injured her ankle. WWE’s doctor spoke to WWE.com and said the following about Beth’s injury:
“It looks like she affected her anterior talofibular ligament, which is the most common injured ankle ligament on an inversion injury,” Sampson told WWE.com. “She has some swelling, [and] she’s having a hard time walking or ambulating on it. We’re going to need an MRI just to make sure there’s nothing else going on and see how we can treat it – if we need surgery or if we can do it conservatively.”
We hope it’s nothing serious and that Beth will be Glam Slammin’ and kicking butt very soon.
This past Friday night on Smackdown, we all saw a new side to AJ Lee when she snapped at former champ Natalya and got herself disqualified. Reports stated that once the match was over, referees and medics rushed to the ring to tend to Natalya as she was bleeding. She tweeted:
I get it. @WWEAJLEE treated me the way she “wanted” to treat Daniel Bryan. I just never expected it from her.
What I do know @WWEAJLEE, is that no matter how many punches to the face I receive, you can be sure I’m going to rise from the ashes.
It’s people like @WWEAJLEE who make me realize what I am truly made of. I’ve faced so much adversity In my life, but it has made me stronger
Nattie has since posted up pictures on her Twitter account (@Natbynature) of her face. Check out the aftermath of AJ’s beating at the top of the page. You can click on the thumbnails for the full size pics.
Maria Menounos, who broke two of her ribs while rehearsing for Dancing with the Stars, confirmed that she is going to compete at Wrestlemania. A fan asked her about competing at Wrestlemania and she replied the following:
Looks like there’s going to be a switch-up to the Divas Wrestlemania match! It has been confirmed that celebrity participant and Dancing With the Stars contestant Maria Menounos cracked a rib during rehearsals for the Cha Cha Cha this week and will be unable to participate in the Divas tag match with Kelly Kelly against the team of Divas Champion Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres. No word on who her replacement will be….. we’re hoping it’s at least Natalya or a returning Layla!
PWInsider is reporting that former Divas Champion Eve Torres suffered an injury during last night’s 8-Diva tag team match. According to the website, Eve was rushed backstage after tagging out of the match after being on the recieving end of a clothesline from Beth Phoenix, causing her nose to bleed severely. We are not sure on the severity of the injury, but it is being reported that Eve has suffered a broken nose.
On Tuesday, while wrestling in a two-out-of-three falls match in Mexico City, Mexico, Sarita was hospitalized after taking a nasty fall. Reports are that Sarita was attempting a drive, but slipped off the top rope and hit the hardwood floor. She was placed on a stretcher and taken to the hospital.
Wednesday, on Facebook, Sarita thanked her fans for their support and stated that she is still sore, but has recovered from the accident.
Former WWE Diva Serena Deeb spoke to Newsday about her time with WWE and recovering from her serious concussion.
The former Straight Edge Society member said it was a “wrong place, wrong time” situation when it came to being able to wrestle.
“I don’t really know what was going on in their minds, in my bosses’ minds, during my time in WWE. I think that the plans were there to eventually have me break out and be in the ring. But the role that I played on television, that wasn’t part of it… So it was just wrong place, wrong time as far as a wrestling role goes. It was definitely a lesson in patience and I had to know and trust that it was just not the right time, and that it was for a reason. Of course, I was very anxious to wrestle. I always wanted to. And the few opportunities I was given on the road to wrestle, I was ecstatic.”
About her concussion, Serena is most definitely “worried about it right now”:
“I would be lying if I said I wasn’t worried about it right now, especially because everything just happened. I’m 25-years-old and what I always imagined was that my career would go for as long as I wanted it to, and that I’d have that in my control. Now I’m suddenly being put in the position where it’s not in my control, and where my body is maybe not going to last as long as I wanted it to and as long as I idealized it lasting. So there’s definitely a large element of worry right now.”
Unfortunately, Serena Deeb will not be able to take on Melina Perez as scheduled at WSU’s Breaking Barriers II PPV on the 19th November (Which is also my birthday!), due to the serious concussion she suffered earlier.
WSU tweeted the following regarding the match:
Breaking news: @SerenaDeeb will not be able to wrestle on 11/19, but she will be in the building to address the fans. Replacement news soon.
Serena made her statement in a video uploaded by WSU, which you can view below.
