End Of Year Awards 2011: OSD Awards

GOOD GIRL OF THE YEAR

These girls are full of sugar and spice and everything nice! These good girls of the ring are always on their best behavior and play nicely with the fans and their opponents. (Well most of the time! This is wrestling!! DUH!) The following women – Kelly Kelly, AJ Lee, Mickie James, Velvet Sky, and Eve Torres — are always there playing up to the fans and getting the crowd on their side. Based on your votes, the ‘Good Girl of 2011′ is none other than former Divas Champion — Kelly Kelly.

BAD GIRL OF THE YEAR

If the good girls are full of sugar and spice and everything nice, what are the bad girls full of? Don’t answer that! These bad girls of 2011 proved to be out for only one person and that’s themselves. They don’t care who they need to go through to get whatever they want. If they want power or a title belt, they will do whatever means necessary to get to the top! The Divas of Doom (Beth Phoenix & Natalya), Karen Jarrett, Vickie Guerrero, The Bella Twins (Nikki & Brie), and Queen Bee Madison Rayne did just exactly that! With that the fans have spoken about who their favorite baddie or maybe the girl they wish to silence, Madison Rayne reigns at the top as the ‘Bad Girl of 2011.’ Long live the Queen!

TOUGHEST INDY STAR

Independent women wrestlers fight each and every match to prove that they just as tough as the guys, maybe even more. These select women of Cheerleader Melissa, Madison Eagles, Mercedes Martinez, Jessicka Havok, and Angel Orsini are just a taste of what it takes to be tough in the wrestling business. There are many more women who could fall into this category however. From this select group, the fans have chosen Cheerleader Melissa, the reigning Shimmer Champion as the TOUGHEST INDY STAR OF 2011! Congratulations champ!

————————————————————————————————————————————————

TEAM OF THE YEAR

2011 saw the continuation and formation of a number of teams. Those that made the biggest impact were nominated for this award, those being Mexican America, The Bella Twins, Divas of Doom, the Chickbusters and our winning team, TnT! The rookie/pro team of Tara and Tessmacher formed earlier this year and got everyone behind them.. minus Karen Jarret, obviously. The crazy BFF duo realised their tag team dream and went on to win the TNA Knockouts Tag titles from Sarita and Rosita. The pair have gotten over the big obstacle that was Madison Rayne trying to split them up and they’ve proven they’re stronger than ever! BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE!

————————————————————————————————————————————————

FEUD OF THE YEAR

This past year there wasn’t too many memorable feuds, one that stuck out in all of your minds was Karen Jarrett’s tirade and hate against the whole non-Jarrett world. Miss Karen appeared in TNA in early 2011 just to occasionally add her two cents to every situation. She then came back as the Vice Presisent of the Knockouts divison, where her feud with the TNA Knockouts really begun! Throughout her tenure as V.P., Miss Karen made sure to piss off everyone to the highest possible calibur, especially Velvet Sky and her bitch personal assistant, Traci Brooks. The class act that was Miss Karen got her commupance and was fired by Sting.

FINISHER OF THE YEAR

The Divas and Knockouts love to end matches with their signature moves; some are ever changing but some stick with that lady forever. Alicia Fox picked up our ‘Finisher of the Year’ award this year for her brand new flippy leg drop finish! The former Divas champion hasn’t been using this move for a while, but it’s certainly a powerful one as she’s defeated the likes of Beth Phoenix and Natalya with it!

MOST DESERVING OF A PUSH IN 2012

When you think of wrestling, all fans think about the women who just don’t seem to get enough respect. It doesn’t matter what company you are viewing. There is always someone that people feel should be pushed that is just not. For whatever the reason may be for the lack of push, these people earn the respect of the wrestling fan community. This year, the following women from TNA and WWE that were nominated for this award were Brooke Tessmacher, Maxine, ODB, Mexican America (Sarita & Rosita), and Natalya. Each of these have received some sort of nod from their respected companies; however, the fans want more from them. The fans have spoken! They feel as if Brooke Tessmacher is worthy of a push!

MOST STLYISH DIVA OF 2011

Maxine reappeared on our screens earlier this year and aligned herself with Derrick Bateman on NXT. She may have changed her boyfriend since then, but something she doesn’t change so often is her great sense in fashion. Stylish Maxine knows how to rock clothes, whether it’s her unusual, funky ring attire or whether she’s yelling at people in a beautiful dress.

MOST STLYISH KNOCKOUT OF 2011

The ‘Hardcore Country’ fashion stylings of Mickie James helped her pick up the ‘Most Stylish Knockout’ award this year. Country is something James is all about and she incorporates it into her everyday and ring fashion. It’s something that makes the talented Knockout stand out from the crowd.

SHINING INDY MOMENT

Former TNA Knockout Cheerleader Melissa realised her dream and finally defeated Madison Eagles to become the SHIMMER champion! In your eyes, this was the ‘Shining Indy Moment’ of 2011.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

MOST SHOCKING INDY MOMENT

These moments shocked and surprised indy fans to their core this year! This 2011 was full of moments that made you go OMGWTF! We had two horrible injuries befall women wrestlers — Serena and Sarita. These injuries made the fans cringe and hope that the fallen would rise once again. We also saw the return to the independent scene of Melina Perez. Fresh from her WWE release, the HellCat was set to face Serena; however that match ceased to happen and we received a surprise opponent in the form of LEXXUS. We also seen heart break as the Belle Saints disbanded because Tina San Antonio decided to be a bitch and fake her own attack and turn on Marti Belle. These moments raised shocked the fans, but not as much as the War Games match that ended in the Machete-gate. The Midwest Milita (Allysin Kay, Jessicka Havok, and Sassy Stephie) pulled a machete on their opponents Mercedes Martinez, Brittney Savage, and Alicia. That was definitely SHOCKING!!

————————————————————————————————————————————————

CELEBRITY OF 2011

2011 may not have been the year of guest hosts, but it certainly seen it’s fair share of Jersey Divas celebrities! Miss Piggy arrived on RAW and caused some trouble with Vickie Guerrero, something Jersey Shore’s Snooki did too! Snookz went on to win a six person tag at WrestleMania! Ex-Jersey Shore gal, Angelina Pivarnick also made herself known, but she appeared in TNA, stirring up trouble between the Beautiful People and Winter. But Access Hollywood star Maria Menounos was the celeb to win your hearts. Maria made her SECOND WWE appearance this year and managed to PIN Divas champion Beth Phoenix in an eight Diva tag team match. Lovely Miss Maria is now undefeated in her Diva career!

“AND I QUOTE!” AWARD

“Would you like to watch me with 20 men?”

The girls of TNA and WWE come out with some weird one-liners and some down right dodgy sayings, THUS the birth of this award. Former NXT Diva, Aksana picks up the award for a strange line she said during a conversation with Teddy ‘Bear’ Long.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

“O HAI!” AWARD

The “O HAI!” award is for the best on-screen return or debut of a WWE Diva or TNA Knockout. This year, the artist formally known as Awesome / Amazing Kong made her WWE debut as Kharma – the Destroyer of Divas! The monsterous Diva made her debut after Michelle McCool wrestled her final match in the WWE. Kharma stomped down the ramp before ending Michelle McCool for good with a big ol’ Implant Buster.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

“HELLO.. GOODBYE?!” AWARD

“Hello.. Goodbye?!” is an award that saddens us a little. As soon as someone makes themselves known to us, they disappear without a trace and leave us longing for more.. well, in some cases! This case was a definite. Kharma debuted at the beginning of May and thumped every Diva in sight, that was until the end of May came and we said a teary goodbye to a pregnant Kharma.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

“OH SNAP!” AWARD

There’s been so many moments in TNA and WWE that make you go OH SNAP! It’s because of different reasons. The moment voted by the fans that really shocked them was when Kelly Kelly snapped and went psycho on Beth Phoenix. Kelly Kelly was sick to death of Beth’s bullying and decided to crank up the crazy!

————————————————————————————————————————————————

WWE DIVAS MATCH OF 2011

Most Diva fans were upset and angry this year by the lack of focus going into the Divas division when it came to matches. We suffered far too many 0-2 minute matches and not enough epic encounters. There were a few great matches that stood out this year though, including this one that won ‘WWE Divas Match of the Year.’ Who would have ever thought Kelly Kelly and Laycool would be fighting for the World Heavyweight championship?!

————————————————————————————————————————————————

TNA KNOCKOUTS MATCH OF 2011

The TNA Knockouts delivered yet again this year and put on some fantastic matches. One that is still stuck in everyone’s minds is the four way from Bound For Glory, where Velvet Sky captured her first TNA Knockouts championship!
