Step 1

CTRL + N (New) .. Make a base (100×100).
You can paste your image into that or paste then resize, like I did. I resized mine to 30% and put it to the left.

Step 2

Paste another image onto your icon, resize it to around 50% and set to lighten.

Step 3

CTRL + SHIFT + U (Desaturate – Make it black and white) the second picture & sharpen both pictures.

Step 4

Set the layer opacity of the top layer to 50% and rub out any overlaps from the bottom layer (In this case, it’s the grey area that Melina is sitting on and the hair from the top layer overlapping onto her legs).

Step 5

Sharpen the top layer again, so it doesn’t look too faded out. This is optional.

Step 6

Set this texture to Soft Light.

Set this texture to Screen.

Step 8

New fill layer, fill it with black and set to Soft Light, 50%.
